Condors in the Community: Colonel Claw’d to visit Thorner Elementary School

Thursday, Feb. 24

Colonel Claw’d and Condors staff will be at Thorner Elementary School located at 5501 Thorner St. from 11 to 1 p.m. Colonel will be interacting with the kids as they are kicking off a fundraiser with the Condors by selling game tickets to help raise money for their school.

Join Bob Mills as he hosts “Condors Insider”, Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. on Fox Sports Radio 970 AM. Tune in for interviews with players and staff, news and notes from around the ECHL and other zoofeatures. Plus, don’t miss the ECHL Plays of the Week and the eagerly anticipated next segment of Frasnelly’s Over/Under.

Friday, Feb. 25

Make sure you tune in to KERO Channel 23 News at 6:20 a.m. as the ZOOperstars make a guest appearance before they head over to the Rabobank Arena for the Condors game Friday night.

The Condors take on the Stockton Thunder for ZOOperstars Night presented by ABC23, 101.5 KGFM and Mercy and Memorial Hospitals. See 10-foot tall mascot characters Squidney Crosby, Manatee Ramirez, Whale Gretzky, LeBronco James, Nolan Rhino and Tiger Woodshuck entertain the crowd. Also, it is a Condors Classroom Champions Night sponsored by ABC23, SC Architect and Kern County Firefighters. Students who achieve outstanding attendance levels will receive a complimentary ticket to tonight’s game. Doors open at 6 p.m., puck drops at 7 p.m.

Saturday, Feb. 26

The Condors take on the Stockton Thunder for Fellowship and Friends Day at a special Noon start presented by 29 Eyewitness News, KERI 1410am & DMW Industries. The first 3,000 fans will receive strip #4 of 5 trading card collectors sets to be given away throughout the season. Also, it is Condors Kids Club Day, where all club members receive free terrace level admission presented by Bright House Networks, Bakersfield Californian, & Wells Fargo.

The Condors would like to thank everyone who has submitted questions on the Condors Facebook page for video answers from Condors players D Joey Ryan and C Adam Naglich. Each Friday the Condors will post a status on a different player who will be taking questions. An answer video will then be posted the following week. The 11th annual Tip-A-Condor Dinner has been scheduled for Monday, March 21st at fishlips located at 1517 18th St., in downtown Bakersfield. The event turns Condors players into waiters and entertainers for the night in an effort to collect tips for charity. All the proceeds will benefit the Kern County Shrine Club.

The night also includes a live and silent auction for various memorabilia from the Condors and from the ECHL and NHL, such as jerseys, game-worn equipment and sticks. The previous 10 years of Tip-A-Condor dinners have yielded nearly $120,000 for local non-profit organizations.

Tickets are $25 and include your choice of dinner from an abbreviated fishlips menu, as well as appetizers and iced tea/soda. They may be purchased in the Condors office, at any Condors home game, at the customer service table, or at fishlips. Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner will start at 6 p.m. For more information call the Condors office at 324-PUCK(7825).

Condors Kids Club Meet the Team Party will be held on Monday, March 7th at Rollerama West, located at 7850 Brimhall Rd. from Kidsparty6:00 to 8:30 p.m. This event is open to all Kids Club members and their parents to meet and skate with the Condors. Each Kids Club member will receive free skate rental, a hot dog or pizza slice, and soda. Members’ siblings and parents may rent skates for $5, and food will be available for purchase. Also, make sure to bring your Kids Club badge and Condors memorabilia to have it signed by entire team. The Condors inflatable slapshot and Condors Mascots will also be on hand and prizes will be given away throughout the night as well.

There’s still time to become a Condors Kids Club member! For $20, membership includes free admission to two remaining Kids Club games, a Kids Club backpack, an ID badge and prizes, and of course admission to the Meet the Team Party courtesy of the Bakersfield Californian, Bright House Networks and Wells Fargo Bank.
