Noveltown Hockey CD Makes Debut CD to feature local bands and Condors players
The Condors teamed up with local author N.L. Belardes and bands to create a compilation CD of original hockey-themed songs such as the Condors Fight Song and Zamboni Zombie. Saturday evenings in the Rabobank Arena can find fans of all ages rocking out before the game and during intermissions to the sounds of local Bakersfield bands like Rocky Nash, Myndsick and The Kookoonauts. The CD even features Condors players Reagan Leslie and Alexandre Bolduc along with former teammates Ryan Cyr, Scott Basiuk and a special appearance by Director of Media Relations & Broadcasting, Devin “Patchboy” Rossiter.
“I’ve been a hockey fan for a long time”, said N.L. Belardes. “I used to listen to Canadian punk hockey songs and thought Bakersfield area bands could do better. The cross support for the compilations is amazing. Noveltown gets funding to publish a children’s story, the Condors get amazing fun-filled music and entertainment, and local bands get exposure to a potentially wider fanbase. It’s a hat trick all around.”
”We truly appreciate all the time these bands have devoted towards making these songs and performing them at our games”, said Condors President Matt Riley. “This is something very cool to be associated with.”

A CD release party is currently in the planning process. The CD can be purchased at all Condors home games, at the Condors Team Store located at 1022 Truxtun Avenue, or at www.noveltown.net. Also look for special opportunities to get your own copy of the CD signed by the bands as well as the featured Condors players. Proceeds from the sales of the CD will go towards Noveltown publishing and will help in their pursuit to publish children’s stories by local authors. The Condors host the Idaho Steelheads on Friday, February 17th for the Team USA Jersey Raffle and Auction, where five lucky fans will walk away with a game-worn jersey courtesy of KGET-TV 17, 98.5 the Fox and American Business Machines. The following night, February 18th, the Steelheads and Condors square off again as Dora the Explorer visits Condorstown courtesy of Bright House Networks, 101.5 KGFM and the University of Phoenix: Bakersfield Campus.

Individual game tickets are on sale now and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena box office which is open 10am – 6pm Monday through Friday, and 10am – 4pm on Saturdays with extended hours on game days. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 322-2525, online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com, or at any Ticketmaster location.
