Condors Lassoed by Wranglers, 4-1

Three Straight vs. FresnoStarting Friday on Road; Goalie Mask and Plasma TV Giveaway at The Nest Saturday

LAS VEGAS - The Bakersfield Condors lost to the Las Vegas Wranglers Tuesday night, 4-1, in front of 3,292, at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Bakersfield defenseman David Kudelka spoiled the shutout for Las Vegas goalie Kevin Lalande with his first goal of the season late in the third.

The Wranglers (13-2-0, 26 points) opened the game's scoring at 13:31 of the opening frame, as Las Vegas forward Peter Ferraro broke the goose eggs on the scoreboard with his seventh goal of the year. Ferraro slipped the puck past Condor netminder Yutaka Fukufuji after receiving a pass from Chris Ferraro, who registered the assist on the score. The goal was Peter Ferraro's 700th career point.

The Condors (4-10-3, 11 points) struggled to find an offensive rhythm in the second period, as Las Vegas continued to play tough defense, limiting Bakersfield to only five shots on goal in the stanza.

Las Vegas struck again 6:23 into the third period, extending their lead to 2-0 over Bakersfield. Wrangler forward Brandon Kaleniecki snapped a loose puck into the Condors' net from the slot after the puck took an unexpected ricochet off an official. The Condors then fell behind 3-0 just 1:29 later when Peter Ferraro netted his second tally of the game, assisted by Ryan Donally and Chris Ferraro. Kudelka got the Condors on the board at the 16:50 mark of the third after Sean Venedam pushed the puck back off the face-off, enabling Kudelka to charge in and fire the puck home to make the score 3-1. However, Las Vegas stretched the lead back to three goals when Tyler Mosienko guided the puck into the Condors' empty net after Fukufuji was pulled for an extra skater late in the third.

Notes: Yutaka Fukufuji saw his first action since Nov. 16 when he was forced to leave the game in the first period after Wrangler Ryan Donally collided with him. Fukufuji stopped 34 of 37 shots tonight. Both teams went 0-5 on the power play in tonight's game.
