Bakersfield and Idaho face off again tomorrow at noon; Diego and Poster Giveaway at The Nest

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors out-shot the Idaho Steelheads 45-30, but fell 2-1 in a shootout Friday night in front of 5,355 at Rabobank Arena in downtown Bakersfield. Idaho (16-11-7, 39 points) opened the game's scoring with a tally from F Bill Kinkel at 8:12 of the opening frame. However, the Condors (8-17-6, 22 points) responded just 1:23 later when F/D Steven Later deked his way to the net and snapped the puck past Idaho G Kellen Briggs to tie the game, 1-1.

In the second period, the Condors and Steelheads sent 13 and eight shots on goal, respectively, but neither team found a way to score in the frame, keeping the 1-1 tie intact after two.

Despite the Condors out-shooting Idaho 15-5 in the third period, neither team broke the tie and the game headed to overtime. After a scoreless overtime session, the Steelheads emerged victorious in the shootout to top Bakersfield by the final score of 2-1.
