Whatever happened to that old PA guy?

You’re referring to Chris Peace.  Chris is a great talent and certainly was a big part of our “show”.  Unfortunately he had family health issues and felt it necessary to move back east.  He occasionally makes it back to town once and a while, but obviously it was too much too ask from him to be here on a consistent basis.  We feel our current primary public announcer, Mike Hart, does an admirable job.  Chris Thompson has also done some games for us over the last three years and we really like the job he does as well.  We recognize the PA announcer has one of the toughest jobs in the building, and respect anyone doing it.  Getting the crowd “pumped up” is certainly part of his job description.  Sometimes it’s hard to judge the volume in a large arena, especially when things get exciting. While we don’t want anyone to be annoyed, we would take a PA announcer who enjoys his job and keeps things lively over someone who is monotone and boring any day of the week.
