CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced today that the Wichita Thunder will serve as the team’s ECHL affiliate for the 2017-18 season.

  • Over the past two seasons, nine players under AHL contract with Bakersfield and six players under NHL contract with Edmonton spent time in the ECHL
  • Wichita enters its fourth season in the ECHL in 2017-18 and 26th overall after a 22-year stint in the Central Hockey League (CHL)
  • The Thunder are led by second-year head coach Malcolm Cameron who has coached nine seasons in the ECHL with Cincinnati, Long Beach, Texas, Florida, and Wichita
