Condors roll to third straight win, 4-2

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors (17-34-4-2, 38pts) won their third game in a row, and improved to 7-2-0-1 in their last 10, doubling up the Utah Grizzlies (25-26-0-5, 55pts) 4-2 Tuesday night at Rabobank Arena.

The two clubs skated to a scoreless tie in the first frame. The quick-moving period featured few whistles and the Condors surrendered only three shots on goal. G Matt Keetley earned the start between the pipes for Bakersfield, while Utah countered with G Andrew Engelage.
Bakersfield drew first blood with a power play tally early in the second. F Tyler Helfrich redirected a F Parker Stanfield shot to make it 1-0. Just minutes later, however, F Paul McIlveen converted on a 2-on-1 to knot it up 1-1. Though Utah had most of the pressure in the frame, the Condors pulled back in front. LW Kyle Calder chipped a rebound home for his sixth of the season with 1:02 left in the stanza to make it 2-1.
The Condors extended the lead at 8:14 with D Alain Goulet, skating as a forward, sending a backhander home for his seventh of the season. Then Stanfield put himself in the goal column by deflecting home his ninth of the year on the power play at 13:29. The Grizzlies added a late goal to account for the final score.
