Fox Sports 970 to serve as new Condors broadcast partner

Bakersfield, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors, host of the 2010-11 ECHL All-Star Classic and ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, today announced Fox Sports Radio 970 AM will be the Condors broadcast partner for the 2010-11 season.

The agreement allows for 55 regular season Condors games to be Fox Sports 970aired over terrestrial radio throughout the year over the Clear Channel-operated station, including 46 in its entirety. In addition, the 2010-11 ECHL All-Star Game will also be carried live. The only on-air conflicts for Condors games come from when the Los Angeles Lakers are in action, as Fox Sports 970 is also home to the reigning NBA Champions.

However, Fox Sports 970 will also broadcast each and every game, live, via their website, www.FoxSports970am.com, as well as through an innovative smart phone application called iheartradio. The iheartradio app, downloadable on countless mobile devices including Android, iPhone, Blackberry, Sonos and Chumby devices, allows iheartradiofans to tune into games wherever they are, including outside the immediate Bakersfield radio market. For more information on the iheartradio application, downloading instructions or compatible devices, log on to www.iheartradio.com.

The application will also allow for fans inside the arena on game nights to also tune into the broadcasts for the first time in Condors history.

“We’re very excited to partner up with Fox Sports 970 and the folks at Clear Channel Radio,” said Condors President Matthew Riley. “The technology they are offering is cutting-edge, and I think fans will love the iheartradio app and the chance to listen while at the games.”

“We’re excited to add the Condors brand to Fox Sports Radio 970,” said Clear Channel Bakersfield Vice President and General Manager Jim Bell. “It’s the perfect local compliment to the Los Angeles Lakers on our great sports station.”

“We’re proud to provide coverage of the Condors to all the great fans in Condorstown, with a great combination of Fox Sports Radio 970, broadcasting every game online at foxsports970am.com,” said Clear Channel Bakersfield Operations Manager Kenn McCloud. “Plus Condors fans will be able to listen to every game on their iPhone or Blackberry via our exclusive iheartradio app.  It’s free and you can listen anywhere!”

Fox Sports 970 AM features a lineup that includes Dan Patrick, Jim Rome, Petros & Money, Pat O’Brien and the Loose Cannons, JT the Brick, and Tony Bruno, plus the Lakers, NASCAR and now the Condors.
