The Bakersfield Condors host the San Jose Barracuda in game eight of their 10 game season series. Bakersfield is unbeaten in regulation in their last four games against San Jose with a 2-0-2 record. Overall, the Condors are 3-2-2 against the Barracuda this season and are 2-1-0 on home ice.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Bakersfield opened the scoring Wednesday with D Joey LaLeggia scoring his 11th, but Tucson would erase the lead and take a 2-1 lead after two periods. RW Ty Rattie tied the game in the third period, but C Mario Kempe’s second goal of the night in overtime secured a 3-2 win for the Roadrunners.

San Jose swept Cleveland at home last Friday and Saturday by a combined 10-2 score. On Saturday night G Antoine Bibeau stopped 23 to preserve a 4-0 shutout win. LW Rudolfs Balcers had a goal and assist and C John McCarthy had two helpers.

PLAYOFF SITUATION

The Condors are eight points back of fourth-place Stockton with 13 games remaining in the regular season. Bakersfield would need 20 points over its final 13 games to keep pace with the average playoff-qualifying position of the past two seasons (76 points).

O’BRIEN BACK ON THE SCORESHEET

After being held without a point on Saturday, LW Zach O’Brien jumped back on the scoresheet with an assist on Wednesday against Tucson. He has six points (2g-4a) over his last seven games and is +4 during the time dating back to February 22.

BROSSOIT BUSY

G Laurent Brossoit has started 18 of the last 19 games in which he has been on the Condors active roster. He has started the last seven games and is 3-2-2 over that stretch. The only game Brossoit was on the roster for since January 10 in which he did not play was a 6-1 loss at Chicago on January 20.

CONDORS NOTES

C Josh Currie has eight points (3g-5a) in his last seven games and is +5 over that stretch… Wednesday was the Condors ninth overtime loss of the season. They had been 5-2 over their last seven overtime games prior to Wednesday, including a 3-2 win over San Diego on Saturday.

BARRACUDA NOTES

San Jose is 10-11-2-2 away from SAP Center… LW Rudolfs Balcers is t-10th among rookies with 38 points (16g-22a)… G Antoine Bibeau is fourth among goaltenders in goals-against average at 2.09. His .928 save percentage is t-3rd in the AHL.
