Hello Jason,
The 2006 ECHL All-star game will be held on Wednesday, January 25th at the Save-Mart Center in Fresno, CA. Condors defenseman Scott Basiuk (pictured) was chosen to replace Alexandre Bolduc who will remain with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL. Basiuk participated in the RBK Rapid Fire and RBK Breakaway Relay competitions on Tuesday, January 24th, and will play in the All-Star game as part of the National Conference team the following day. Listen to the game as it is broadcast live on KGEO Hot Talk AM 1230 beginning at 6:45 pm or listen at bakersfieldcondors.com or watch the game on Thursday, January 26th on OLN beginning at 2pm. Visit the Fresno Falcons for All-Star Event information.
After returning from the Condors injured reserve, forward Justin Quenneville and goalie Ryan Cyr were traded to the Phoenix Roadrunners for goalie Mathieu Chouinard. Chouinard was suspended by Bakersfield when he failed to report after being traded. Following Chouinard’s suspension, the Roadrunners traded forward Chris Hodgson (pictured) for the rights to defenseman Anders Olsson. In 18 games with Phoenix, Hodgson recorded a goal, an assist and 15 penalty minutes. Goalie Ricky Massey joined the Condors, as an emergency backup to Munce. Massey comes to Bakersfield by way of Holy Cross College. The Condors also had a couple of former Condors return to the lineup. Daniel Kim and former Condors Captain Paul Rosebush signed with the team Saturday, January 14th after current Captain Sean Venedam was sidelined with two broken fingers and Dave Bonk suffered a sprained ankle during Friday’s loss in San Diego. Paul scored his first goal of the 2005-06 season, when the Condors hosted the Florida Everblades at home on January 15th. Daniel was released from the team on January 17th and Paul was released from the Bakersfield Condors on Monday, January 23rd. Rosebush could be resigned to help out in additional games, depending on how soon Bonk and Venedam are able to return from their injuries.
Former Condors Captain Paul Rosebush thought once he retired, he’d never put on a jersey again or add to his all-time franchise stats. But that’s exactly what he did during his brief return to the Condors lineup. Rosebush added a goal and an assist bringing his all-time franchise stats 129 goals and 110 assists. Rosebush, 31, was a key part of the Condors roster from 1999-2005, suiting up in 409 games over that span.

A big thanks goes out to Econo Air for their continued support of the Bakersfield Condors in the 05-06 season. This season Econo Air began their corporate sponsorship with the Condors by being featured in a few of the Condors most prestigious pieces of exposure including the Ice Logos, Jumbo-tron Commercials and the Condors Team Poster Giveaway. Gary Flanagan, President of Econo Air, finds that partnering with the Condors is “good exposure for us because the Condors have high attendance rates; fans see our logos, and it drives business”. Econo Air began in 1977 in order to help consumers save money on their rising energy bills. Today, they are still in the business of saving money by "saving energy". Visit Econo Air at 314 Union Avenue (3 blocks North of Hwy. 58) or visit online at www.econoair.com.
He shoots - he scores! Condors Captain Sean Venedam scored his 200th professional goal on January 7th, tying the game at 4-4 against the Alaska Aces. At the time, Venedam didn’t realize that he had reached the milestone, but Bakersfield wouldn’t let him forget as cheers and congratulations spread throughout the arena. “It was a nice gesture on Bakersfield’s part to acknowledge [the achievement], but honestly - it made me feel old.” Old or not, the world is an empty net for Venedam, as he has the rest of the season to continue adding to his accomplishment.
