To my friends and fans alike, It has been over a year since I played my last professional hockey game with the Condors and it has taken me almost as long to realize I won't be able to return to the ice. I have seen and talked with many of you over the last year and it is hard to describe the appreciation I have for the support you have shared. After months of rehabilitation and doctors opinions last season it wasn't realistic to believe I would stay healthy through an entire season. With some hesitation, my ice hockey career had to come to an end. My family and I have enjoyed Bakersfield and considered it our home long before we bought our first house here. We've considered many of you our friends, and for that I thank you. I have come across hockey fans everywhere I go in town. The bank, the grocery store, and even at church. I will always be grateful for the experience even if it has to end. I am still very involved with roller hockey and still participating at a very high level competing with Team Canada and a company sponsored team called Rink Rat. As co-captain for team Canada I will be participating in an upcoming qualifying tournament in Argentina in March and I am also scheduled to represent Canada again in Germany this summer during the World Games. I am still working with Nance' Fillmore and Fillmore Realty and Financial Services, an independent realty company located in Rosedale. It has been a pleasure extending my professional relationship with many of you beyond Centennial Garden and into the world of real estate. Please feel free to stop by and say hello. I have also enjoyed spending my free time visiting schools, running hockey clinics, and tutoring students of all ages in math and science when I am not helping my own children with their home school activities. I look forward to seeing many of you at a future Condors game. We all need to enjoy the success we are seeing in a town that truly deserves a winning team. I wish all of you the best in 2005.
