    Hello, Hello Condorstown!

The Condors have designed a new portion of their website specifically for season ticket holder news! This new section will keep you updated with Meet the Team parties, Club Room menus, playoff ticket information and much more! To visit the season ticket holder website visit the Condors web page, choose the “Tickets” header and highlight “Season Ticket Holders,” or click here.

    Who are the VeggieTales?

This Friday the VeggieTales will be live in Condorstown courtesy of KERI 1180 am and Island Style. Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber will be at The Nest to meet the fans and pose for photos.

Some people might ask, “Who are the VeggieTales?” The VeggieTales is a series of children's computer-animated films conveying the Christian bible and moral ideas to children via humorous, anthropomorphic vegetable characters.

The first VeggieTales video was released in 1993, and was the United States’ first completely computer animated video widely distributed in VHS format. Since then, the VeggieTales videos have sold well over 50 million copies.

Most VeggieTales videos follow a set pattern. The presenters (Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber, both who will be in Condorstown) set up a moral situation, often arising from a letter from a viewer at home. There is then a discussion among several of the main characters as to how this is best answered. Inevitably, they get to the point where they "roll the video". There is usually an intermission for a "Silly Song with Larry", and at the end the presenters return to wrap up the moral lesson with an applicable "memory verse" as delivered from QWERTY, the computer. Generally, Bob is the straight man to Larry's goofier character. Larry usually gets the best of the sometimes overly serious Bob.

The internal stories themselves are often based on biblical or famous literary stories, sometimes transferred to a different setting (for example, Sumo of the Opera teaches about perseverance by retelling Rocky mixed with The Karate Kid.)

Similar to most children’s shows that become very popular, the VeggieTales has broadened its scope of merchandise. Fans can now purchase VeggieTales clothing, movies and video games, all to have fun and still convey a message and morals.

The VeggieTales airs weekly on NBC and Telemundo. For more information on the VeggieTales, visit their website at www.bigidea.com.

Along with the VeggieTales, Christian recording artist ever stays red will also be in The Nest Friday. They will perform live in the arena during the second intermission and after the game for about an hour. Below is a note that ever stays red wanted to pass along to Condorstown.

“We are super excited to be a part of this night with the Condors. A couple of notes about us... We are a group of people who are passionate about music and our God who has blessed us with the ability to play music in many different places and for many different people. We will always use any chance we get to reach people and affect their lives positively by displaying through our music a new kind of hope and joy that we have found in life. We play music that is blatant about our passion for God, and allows those who enjoy the music a different approach to rocking out!”

    Mailbag Post:
    From Lew:
Last night (Tuesday, Feb. 13) we attended our first Tip a Condor event and we had a great time. There was myself, my wife, daughter, 10-year-old grandson and his 9-year-old friend. The players were great and treated all very well. Our grandson and his friend had a great time. All the players were very good to them and treated them as if they really counted, and I know they feel that way. It was a fun evening.

    Mailbag Response:
First of all, the Condors would like to say THANK YOU for your support of our 2007 Tip-A-Condor charity dinner! With the support of fans like you we were able to set records in attendance and in the amount of money we raised this year! Your comments are greatly appreciated and it is so nice to hear that our fans enjoyed their time at the event. The players would also like to extend their gratitude as well, not only because it is for such a great cause, but because they have a blast! Taking time to serve food, sing, and dance with the fans is something that is irreplaceable in the eyes of all the players. We are very fortunate to have a team full of players that recognize how much their contributions can mean to a community. The Condors along with the Kern County Shrine Club are very grateful to you and your family for your participation in this years’ Tip-A-Condor and hope that you will continue to support this amazing charity event for many years to come. Once again thank you for expressing your thoughts and Go Condors!
