Due to the Hoops Extreme event outside Rabobank Arena this weekend, parking lot P1 (the lot just behind the arena south of the railroad tracks) will not be available. Alternatives areas that will be available to park include the County Parking Structure and the lots west of "N" Street. Rabobank Arena apologizes for any inconvenience.
Condors defenseman Andrew Oke was invited as
a ceremonial first-puck dropper for March 15, LA Kings
game where he was a special guest for
model/actress Carmen Electra’s Head To Hollywood
Night. Head To Hollywood is a program designed to
raise money for brain tumor survivors and their
families.
US Weekly editor and former Condors player Ken
Baker, a pituitary brain tumor survivor, founded the
non-profit organization in 2005. Baker was a
goaltender for the Condors during the 2001-02
season. Baker documented his time with the team
and his health battles in the book, They Don’t Play
Hockey In Heaven, which is available at merchandise
stands at all Condors home games, or at the Condors
team store or online at

One of the many perks that Oke received was
being picked up by a private jet at 9 a.m. the morning
of the game and getting flown down to Los Angeles.
Throughout the day he meet celebrities such as
American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest, Lauren Conrad, Tara
Connor, Giuliana Depandi, and plenty of Miss USA
Contestants. For more information, click here.

March 1 kicked off the Condors Blood Drive Month at the Houchin Community Blood Banks, located at 5901 Truxtun Ave. and 2600 G St. All participants who donate blood in the month of March to either one of the two locations will receive a $1 terrace admission to the Condors game on Wednesday, March 28, courtesy of 107.9 KUZZ.
All donors who give blood in March (by Mar. 28th) will be entered into a drawing to win: Traditionally, this blood drive brings in over 500 donations for the blood needs of our community, which is a tremendous help to our local Blood Bank. This drive is extremely important for Houchin as donations are unusually low for the month of March. In fact, Houchin Blood Bank is currently at 50% of inventory. Hospitals are requesting blood faster than they can replenish it. Stop by Houchin Blood Bank and donate today! Need a Condors player to get your blood flowing? On Thursday, March 22, Condors players Scott Borders and Scott Balan, along with the Condors mascots will be at the Truxtun location to visit with blood donors at 5:30 p.m. Don’t miss your chance to help save a life! To learn more about being a donor, please contact Tracy Hunter, at 323-4222.

The Bakersfield Condors had another record- setting jersey auction Saturday, March 17, when Condors’ defenseman Andrew Oke’s jersey sold for $5,200, a single-jersey record, surpassing the $5,100 bid on Kevin St. Jacques Veteran’s Day Jersey earlier this season. The $28,800 total raised for the Kern Adult Literacy Council through bids on the team’s game-worn St. Patrick’s Day jerseys was the second highest in team history, behind only the Bakersfield Fog throwback jerseys that raised $32,200 on April Fools’ Day, 2006. It was the last jersey auction of the season, bringing the total of money raised in auctions this year to $77,950. The jersey auction raised thousands of dollars to support the Kern Adult Literacy Council four literacy programs: Family Literacy, GED, English as a Second Language, and Adult Basic Education along with funding 1,400 students at over 51 sites in Kern County. After Oke’s high bid, Reagan Leslie brought in the second highest bid of the night at $2,700. Jamie Hodson, whose jersey went for $2,500, followed closely behind for the third largest amount of the evening. Sean Venedam and Kevin St. Jacques jerseys tied for fourth raising $1,700 each. That amount for St. Jacques set a new all-time individual high for money raised at $23,700 with 11 jerseys. Former Condor Paul Rosebush previously held the top spot with $23,250 with 20 jerseys.
