As you may have noticed, there has been an influx of new players in Condorstown. Defenseman Sean Clark signed last Sunday. The Condors acquired defenseman Nathan Tennant from the Dayton Bombers in exchange for future considerations, defenseman Shaun Fisher via a trade with the Phoenix Roadrunners for future considerations and forward Jack Baker signed with the team last Wednesday. This week Alexandre Bolduc will don a Condors uniform and join the team while on the road.
The Condors have been hit hard with injuries over the last month, but the squad is starting to get healthy. Joel Irving, Reagan Leslie, Oriel McHugh, and Eric Neilson have all recently returned to the lineup after missing games due to injuries. Fans can hope to see Andrew Ianiero and newcomer Shaun Fisher on the ice for the Condors next home game on Wednesday, March 29. Scott Borders, Brian Collins, Nick Economakos and Sean Venedam and all expected to return from the IR the first week of April, in time for the final game of the season and fresh and ready to go for playoff action.
Attention full-season ticket holders! There are only two more games to trade in your unused tickets as part of the “Never-A-Wasted Ticket” program. Wednesday, March 29th and Friday, March 31st are the final two games that the program is in effect. Take this opportunity to trade in your tickets at the Rabobank Arena box office and bring some friends to the games.
The Condors have clinched a playoff spot, now we just have to wait and see where the team will finish in the standings, which will determine who the Condors face in the 1st round and when the games will be played.
These are the playoff scenarios: If Long Beach finishes 2nd and Bakersfield finishes 3rd:
2005-06 full-season season ticket holders as well as 24-game weekender plan holders have the first three playoff tickets already included in their ticket booklets or soft stock tickets. All other mini-plan holders will receive information in the mail in the upcoming weeks in regards to securing seats for the playoff action.

The Condors’ Mailbag has been integrated into the Condors website as a way to answer questions regarding the team, front office and organization. On Friday, March 31st, bring a pillow and join in on the fun as WB-TV 12, 106.1 KRAB Radio and American Business Machines present the World’s Largest Pillow Fight as the Condors make another attempt at breaking a Guinness World Record. The current record stands at over 3,600, so we’re going to need lots of feathers and foam brought the Condorstown that night. After the pillow fight, fans can throw the pillows on the ice, where they will be collected and donated to the Bakersfield Homeless Shelter and other local charities.
This is no April Fool’s joke. On Saturday, April 1st Bud Light presents the Bakersfield Fog Jersey Raffle and Auction. The Condors will turn back the clock and don Fog jerseys, which will be auctioned off after the game. Plus, everyone in attendance has a chance to win one of five jerseys to be given away! All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Kern County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).
Help the Condors give back to the community by becoming a Condors Big Buddies sponsor. Sponsor a block of tickets for a non-profit youth organization at the reduced price of $5 per ticket. A minimum donation of twenty tickets ($100) is good for admission to the Saturday, April 8th, Condors vs. Alaska Aces Big Buddies Night. Big Buddies donations are tax deductible. That’s right folks; we’ve added a new spin to the Condors favorite 2nd intermission contest, which can win you cash! Purchase a puck for just $1.00, and any fan who’s puck lands in the army helmet at center ice will win the U.S. Army Chuck-a-Puck jackpot, which is currently at $200 for next Wednesday’s game. The jackpot increases by $25 every time no one makes it. The 2nd prize will continue to be tickets to other events and concerts held at Rabobank Arena or Convention Center.
The Bakersfield Condors would like to welcome Chuy’s on board as a first-year corporate sponsor during the 2005-2006 season. Chuy’s began their partnership with the Condors by sponsoring a dasherboard as well as the “Chuy’s Freeze Team”. The Chuy’s Freeze Team helps execute promotions during the Condors home games and have also made numerous appearances around the Bakersfield area including one Friday a month at local Chuy’s restaurants. “I like our logo being near the ice, it’s great name recognition when the guys are fighting for the puck right next to the dasherboard,” stated Chuy’s Area Manager Ryan Stuteville. “It’s rewarding when fans get to see our name during the games. We look forward to the team’s [quest] for the Kelly Cup and next season.” Chuy’s began in 1979 and offers patrons a relaxed beach-themed casual dining experience. Join the Condors for the 2006 Credit Unions of Kern County Family Fun Night as they face- off against the Alaska Aces for the final game of the season. SpongeBob Squarepants (provided by Bright House Networks) will be in attendance and tickets are specially priced just for your group! The 2nd edition of the Condors Souvenir Programs is in. Don’t miss your chance to learn about the newest Condors for just $3 The programs are sold during the games at the front and back merchandise stands and program sellers can be found by the entrances.

The Bakersfield Condors will travel Hwy 99 for a rematch against the Fresno Falcons on Tuesday, March 28th at 7pm at the Save Mart Center. The Condors and Falcons were originally scheduled to play on February 24th, but the game was postponed due to unsafe ice conditions.
This Week at the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center: Signups for the Spring Youth Hockey League are still being taken. The league begins on April 3rd and hockey equipment is available for rental. The next sessions for skate school begins on April 10th and 12th. All ages and abilities are welcome to participate! Are you interested in working in the hockey industry?
