Fans Make Miracles Happen for Children's Hospital On Friday night not only did fans see their beloved Condors take the Alaska Aces 3-1 but they were also given the opportunity to take home a 25th Anniversary of Miracle on Ice Jersey. The team sported these classic jersey's on Friday and then they were auctioned off following the game. The highest bid was for Paul Rosebush's jersey which brought in an impressive $3,700, matching the highest bid in team history originally set for Kevin St. Pierre's Veteran's Day jersey in 2002. Rosebush's jerseys have brought in $19,150 for local charities making him the all-time leader in money donated. The entire auction raised over $25,125 for the Petroleum Shrine Club. Tip-A-Condor, Good times for everyone! On Monday March 21st the Condors held their Annual Tip-A-Condor dinner and auction, also to benefit the Shriner's Children's Hospital. Condors fans were able to sit and relax as they had food and drink served to them by Condors Players. In addition to a meal they were also served up some once-in-a lifetime entertainment as they experienced performances by such song birds as Luis Tremblay, Kevin St. Jacques, Paul Rosebush, Ryan Gillis, Mike Hofstrand, and others, as well as the dancing genius of Brett Lutes. When the night was said and done, $15,384 was collected for the Children's Hospital. Thank you to all of our fans for their continued generosity and support of local charities!
The Bakersfield Condors made one move at the noon (PST) ECHL Trade Deadline, picking up C Sylvain Deschatelets from the San Diego Gulls in exchange for future considerations on Saturday. Deschatelets, 25, missed several games at the beginning of the season recovering from wrist surgery during the off- season, but recorded 44 points with 13 goals in 53 games for San Diego, tied for the team lead in points. He also led the team with 31 assists and was third with 15 power play points (5g-10a). He was gunning for his third straight team scoring title, having led the Gulls in points in each of the last two campaigns. The Bakersfield Condors and Texas Wildcatters completed their trade that started when Ty Hennes and Frederic Belanger were dealt from the Condors along with future considerations for future considerations. In both instances, the futures were goalies, with Davis Parley coming in and Jason Wolfe going to Texas. Parley, 22, is in his second professional season, both spent with the Wildcatters, who have struggled this year with the second lowest winning percentage in the league. He has a 3.54 goals against average (GAA) and a .915 save percentage in 27 appearances this season. He has faced an average of 39.26 shots per game this season in Texas. He won 18 games as a rookie in 2003-04, with a 3.98 GAA and .905 save percentage in 52 games with Texas team that also struggled in their first season of operation. Parley's 63-save performance in January of last season represents the second- highest single game save total in ECHL history. Thank you, SC Architect...
