We’re in the Playoffs, But When Will We Play?
    Kelly cup w/ sponsors

The Condors have clinched a playoff spot, now we just have to wait and see where the team will finish in the standings, which will determine the Condors 1st round game dates. The Condors are currently in 2nd place, one point ahead of Long Beach. Should the Condors win in Stockton on Friday (or lose in overtime) and Long Beach lose against Las Vegas, the Condors will clinch 2nd place. If any other scenario takes place Friday, the final outcome won’t be determined until Saturday night when the Condors host Alaska, and Long Beach plays at Fresno. The Condors hold the tie-breaker over Long Beach, which is total wins.

    These are the playoff scenarios:
    ECHL Playoffs, Round One
If Bakersfield finishes 2nd and Long Beach finishes 3rd:
    Game 1 - April 11, Tuesday @ Bakersfield – 7:00pm
    Game 2 - April 14, Friday @ Bakersfield – 7:00pm
    Game 3 - April 15, Saturday @ Long Beach – 7:00pm
    Game 4 - April 16, Sunday @ Long Beach – 5:00pm
    Game 5 - April 19, Wednesday @ Long Beach – 7:00pm (if necessary)
    Game 6 - April 21, Friday @ Bakersfield – 7:00pm (if necessary)
    Game 7 - April 22, Saturday @ Bakersfield – 7:00pm (if necessary)

If Long Beach finishes 2nd and Bakersfield finishes 3rd:

    Game 1 - April 13, Thursday @ Long Beach – 7:00pm
    Game 2 - April 14, Friday @ Long Beach – 7:30pm
    Game 3 - April 15, Saturday @ Bakersfield – 7:00pm
    Game 4 - April 18, Tuesday @ Bakersfield – 7:00pm
    Game 5 - April 19, Wednesday @ Bakersfield – 7:00pm (if necessary)
    Game 6 - April 21, Friday @ Long Beach – 7:30pm (if necessary)
    Game 7 - April 23, Sunday @ Long Beach – 7:00pm (if necessary)

2005-06 full-season season ticket holders as well as 24-game weekender plan holders have the first three playoff tickets already included in their ticket booklets or soft stock tickets. All other mini-plans should have received information in the mail in regards to securing seats for playoff action. Fans can also secure their seats for the extended post season action, sign up for Rounds 2, 3, and 4 by credit card, which will only be charged as we advance, so you have nothing to lose so get it out of the way. Give us a call at 324-PUCK(7825).

    Injured Players Are Getting Healthy

The Condors have been besieged with injuries this season, but are finally getting healthy. Scott Borders, Oriel McHugh and Sean Venedam will be back in the lineup for the Condors next game on Friday in Stockton. Reagan Leslie, Nick Economakos, Andrew Ianiero and Brian Collins will be eligible to return to the ice shortly after that. Go Condors!

Kevin St. Jacques becomes the second Condor to record his 1,000th point with the team. The only other Condor to record 1,000th career point was Paul Willett in March of 2003.

On Saturday, April 1st Bud Light (Advanced Beverage) presented the Bakersfield Fog Jersey Raffle and Auction. The Condors turned back the clock and donned the jerseys of their predecessor the Fog and raised $32,200. After the Condors 3-1 win over Phoenix the game-worn Fog jerseys were auctioned off including former Condors and Fog players Kevin Barrett and Glen Mears. Barrett’s jersey brought in $1,000, while Mears went for $1,600.

Condors goalie Ryan Munce’s sweater went for $3,000 and Eric Neilson’s brought in $2,800. The surprise of the night came when Kevin St. Jacques, whose jersey went for $4,000, broke the team’s individual jersey record, which Munce set at $3,800 last month during the USA Olympic jersey auction. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Kern County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA).

    Sponsor Highlight- Bill Wright Toyota

The Bakersfield Condors appreciate the support and sponsorship of Bill Wright Toyota during the 05- 06 season. Bill Wright Toyota was one of the first local businesses to get on board with the Condors and have been corporate sponsors for many years. They currently sponsor the Bill Wright Toyota “Shoot to Win a Car” on-ice contest as well as two on-ice logos. In order to win a brand new car from Bill Wright Toyota contestants of the “Shoot to Win a Car” have to shoot a puck from center ice through a small cut-out hole in the goal net. It hasn’t happened yet, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

“Bill Wright Toyota sponsors the Bakersfield Condors to contribute to the spirit, pride and winning attitude of our community, said General Sales Manager Kevan Juergens. “We share a common vision to become the best in our respective fields. The Condors serve as an inspiration to all of us.”

Bill Wright Toyota offers a full-line of quality vehicles, as well as extensive service and parts departments with courteous staff. Stop by 5100 Gasoline Alley Drive today and test drive a vehicle or speak to a sales representative call 398-8697.

    Condors Mailbag

The Condors Mailbag has been integrated into the Condors website as a way to get your questions answered regarding the team, front office and organization. The coaches and front office will answer all relative questions as time allows. The Condors’ Mailbag is displayed on the Condors homepage. An archive of recently asked questions can be found at bakersfieldcondors.com. Here are a few recent inquiries:
Q: We have several great players on our team but there hasn’t been one picked this whole season on the ECHL player of the week, etc, etc. What is the process for this and why haven’t we had one picked yet?
    A:
The Weekly and Monthly awards are gathered through the league office and each team’s media relations department. Players are nominated by ECHL media relations personnel for consideration. Once nominations are finalized, the league office breaks down each nominee’s performance over the weekly window beginning on a Monday and ending on Sunday. Consideration is given to several different factors including wins and losses, home or away games, plus-minus rating, game-winning and power play goals as well as other unique feats (hat tricks, shutouts, etc.). Read on.
Q: I think the Condors Kids' Meet the Team night at Hometown Buffet was a great idea, my two children had a blast and can't stop talking about it. Maybe we can have some more events like this......
    A:
We are so happy you and your children enjoyed the Meet the Team Party for the Kids Club. One of the benefits of being a Condors Kids Club member is the opportunity to attend this annual party where kids get a chance to hang out with the players. We always welcome parental feedback and appreciate your suggestions on how we can improve the overall experience.

    Kids Club Party Review

On March 27th the Condors Kids Club held their annual “Meet the Team” party at Hometown Buffet. Members of the team dined, talked, signed autographs and took pictures with the Kids Club members. Members got to spin the Wheel-O-Condor and win Condors merchandise in an opportunity drawing. Colonel Claw’d made an appearance as did his friend the Hometown Bee.
