Condors Averaging 6,226 Fan Per Game

Thanks to the support of the Bakersfield community, the Condors are currently ranked No. 2 in league attendance. In eight games at home, the Condors are averaging 6,226 fans per game, bringing the total number for Condors fans this season to 49,815. The Bakersfield Condors would like to extend their gratitude to our fans for continuing to fill up the arena on a continuous basis.

    Skate With The Team

After the game on Friday, December 9th, the Condors will hold an exclusive Season Ticket Holder Skate with the Team. Season ticket holders only are invited downstairs to join the team on the ice. Participants are encouraged to bring their own skates, or skate rental will be available for $5 per pair, based on availability.

    Stanley Cup Photos Available Online

If you had your photo taken with the Stanely Cup at the game on November 30th you can now order your commemorative picture. Click HERE to view your photo with the Stanley Cup. In order to access the pictures you will need to enter the password: CONDORS and a valid email address. Stanley Cup photos will be available for viewing and purchasing until January 31, 2006.

All proceeds from the picture orders will be added to the donations collected during that game and sent to the NHL/ECHL Relief Fund for the Mississippi Sea Wolves and the Texas Wildcatters. Condors fans gave $1,200 in donations on that night alone, and the Condors continue to raise money through the picture sales.

Don’t Miss the Coach’s Show Tonight

Join the “Voice of the Condors” Devin Rossiter, Head Coach Marty Raymond, Nick Economakos and Kevin Truelson tonight live from the Holiday Inn Select’s Q Street Lounge at 801 Truxtun Ave. The “Condors Coach’s Show” is carried live most Thursdays from 6:00 – 7:00pm on KGEO AM 1230.

A Few New Faces in Condorstown

Roll out the welcome wagon for forwards Joel Irving and Jason Norrie and defensman Kevin Truelson. Irving joins the Condors from the South Carolina Stingrays on a trade that sent goalie Davis Parley to South Carolina. Norrie (pictured) a 6’3, 205- pounds right-winger came to Bakersfield by way of the London Racers in the EIHL. Kevin Truelson, a familiar face to some, returns to the Condors lineup ready for action. Truelson attended training camp in early October despite not being fully recovered from an upper body injury.

Forward Patrik Levesque was released on Wednesday.

    Heating Up Bakersfield

On Wednesday, November 30th, 2,000 coats were collected for the Project Warm Families Coat Drive. Sponsored by KGET-TV 17, News Radio 970 KGET and Barber Honda, the coat drive is the longest tenured collection event in the history of the organization. The event, which dates back to the Bakersfield Fog, has seen the collection of more than 16,000 coats. Once again, Junior Achievement partnered with the Condors and arranged distribution to several local agencies.

    Stuffed Animal House

On November 26th, the Bakersfield Condors and United Way partnered for the annual Teddy Bear Toss. A total of 6,119 bears were thrown onto the ice following Nate Metcalf’s goal in the first period. The Toss has become a popular tradition in Bakersfield with this year’s edition bringing in 8,815 fans, the third-largest crowd in team history and the third-largest crowd in the ECHL this season.

The Bakersfield Condors would like to thank all of the Big Buddies, who made the night happen. The Big Buddies Program involves sponsoring a block of tickets for a non-profit youth organization around Kern County to the Teddy Bear Toss game on November 26, 2005.

    Sponsor Highlight – Instant Storage

The Condors would like to thank Instant Storage for their continued support in this 2005-2006 season. Instant Storage has been a fixture with the Condors family since 1999, on of our longest tenured sponsors.

Instant Storage has been in operation since 1976, and are locally owned and operated here in Bakersfield. They provide both on-site storage and mini-storage to all areas of the community of Bakersfield, individual residence, construction, oil, retail, agricultural and many more.

“Working with the Condors is a great opportunity for us to reward our customers with tickets, and it also allows us to reach our target market,” said Marc Caputo, Instant Storage General Manager. They are featured on 2 dasherboards, in the souvenir program, as well as on your Condors pocket schedule. To find the correct solution for your storage needs contact Instant Storage at 393-7000, or visit them online at www.instantstorage.com.

Condors Front Office vs. Wranglers Front Office

That’s right people! Rivalries extend beyond the ice. The Condors and the Las Vegas Wranglers had a contest going on to see when who could sell the most new season tickets. Of course, the Condors sales department won that challenge! As winners of the challenge, the front office will get the night off at a game to be determined, while Las Vegas comes to town and runs the game operations for us. Condors Rock!

    Matt’s Movie Corner

Matt’s movie corner is the place to go to find out the TRUTH about movies. See what movies score a Hat Trick!!

Derailed (2 pucks) Derailed has a very unique story line with some unpredictable and startlingly twists and turns that draw you in. ~ Michael Reeves, Director of Sponsorships

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (3 pucks) It’s the fourth film in the series, and the challenges that Harry and his friends face are getting more intense. It’s the perfect blend of typical teenage struggles and the fantasyland that JK Rowling has created. Ultimately it’s the age-old good versus evil delivered in perfectly modern atmosphere. ~ Mikie Hayhurst, Director of Community Relations & Development

Rent (3 pucks) The movie stays true to the original stage production with the extra benefits that film can offer. Taye Diggs and Rosario Dawson did a phenomenal job with the vocal aspect considering singing is not their specialty. With the recent success of stage-to- movie re-makes, it’s nice to see the musical genre make a comeback and reach new generations. ~ Dayna Cashion, Account Manager

Yours, Mine and Ours (3 pucks) Overall, I loved this modern remake of the classic movie. Some scenes that were given a modern perspective seemed out of place, but for the most part it stayed true to the original movie. Dennis Quaid and Renee Russo did an excellent job portraying overwhelmed parents trying to blend families. ~ Angelese Reed, Public Relations Assistant
