Hello Jason,
Not to the East side, but to Manitoba! Condors forward Alexandre Bolduc was called up to the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League last week. Manitoba is the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. Alex played in his first game as a Moose last Wednesday. Bolduc made an immediate impact, when he scored a power play goal in the second period. “We’re very happy for Alex,” said Head Coach Marty Raymond. “His stellar play and hard work paid off and now he gets a chance at the next level. It’s good for our younger players because it shows that if you perform consistently here, you’ll get noticed.” The 20-year-old, Montreal, Quebec native has been one of the Condors’ best young scorers this season, with eight goals and four assists in 19 games. Bolduc is expected to rejoin the Condors in January.

On Friday, December 9th, Bakersfield native Carol Webb won the Nip & Puck Personal Makeover Giveaway courtesy of Bright House Networks, La Preciosa 105.3 and Dr. Shah and Associates, who will perform the makeover. “I was so excited when I won,” said Carol, 37. “I have some scars on my face that I want removed, but that will have to wait until my baby is born in July. I had forgotten about the contest, until I walked in the arena. We had taken friends of ours who hadn’t been to a Condors game before,” she said. “So, I definitely wasn’t expecting to win the grand prize.” Carol wasn’t the only one to have a good time on that night. Hundreds of season ticket holders took to the ice after the game to get autographs, take pictures, talk and skate with their favorite Condors during the Exclusive Season Ticket Holder Skate with the Condors.
On December 1st members of the Condors front office staff and players Kevin Kotyluk, Justin Quenneville and Scott Balan attended a taping of the well-known game show “The Price is Right.” The Condors were the talk of the studio with the enthusiastic spirit and constant energy they brought to the show. Account Manager Greg Lowe was the lucky member of the Condors group to hear his name called down to contestant’s row. Greg narrowly missed an opportunity at his chance of winning a brand new car. “It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I got robbed; the girl next to me kept bidding one dollar more than me every time we bid on a new item. I would have loved to win the showcase but instead I left [the show] with a new set of luggage and a new lamp.” Although Greg didn’t make it onto the stage that day, fellow Condors staff member Michael Reeves rushed to the stage to congratulate the showcase showdown winner. “I had already given Bob (Barker) the jersey I was wearing, so I was in normal clothes like the group on the stage. Since my name wasn’t called during the show, I ran on stage to celebrate with the winner. I did what I had to do to get my twenty seconds of fame”. The show is run on tape delay, so you can check out your “Barker”sfield Condors on CBS, on January 16, 2006 at 10:00 am.
The Condors would like to extend a big Happy Holidays greeting to Lennar Homes. The partnership originally began with Coleman Homes, but two years ago they were aquired by Lennar and now combined are in their 3rd year of sponsorship. In the past, Lennar Homes has sponsored Raymond’s Rascals and were featured on the pocket schedules. In addition, this year they are spotlighted on the cover of the Nightly Notes, as well as being the sponsors of the January 15th Cheer Sign Giveaway. Lennar Homes is the premier sponsor of the Condors “game day” blimp. This outdoor blimp is flown high above the arena to help remind the people of Bakersfield that it’s game day in Condorstown. “We joined the Condors because the Condors organization gives back to the community,” said Sam Wilkerson, Lennar Homes Sales & Marketing Director. “The coaches, players and staff give back more than their time, they participate in school and community functions. Those are same principles Lennar Homes tries to abide by. ” All managers are local and have stayed on from the Coleman era, helping Lennar Homes become the No. 1 builder in Bakersfield. To inquire about a Lennar Home call 589-3681.
