is a milestone number. In this 20th Anniversary season, we take a look back at all the Condors who scored 20 goals in a season.
-99 The first season in Condors history saw a combination of former Fog stars mix with the next generation of Condors stars. Steve Dowhy led the Condors in goals and points, while newcomer Jamie Cooke gave fans a taste of what was to come for the next five seasons.

-00 The additions of Paul Willett and Dan Currie provided a surge in offense for the Condors second season, with both breaking the 40-goal barrier and tying for a team record that still stands 18 year later. Willett also became the first (and still only) Condor to reach 100 points on the season as well, while Currie and Jamie Cooke both ranked in the top 12 in WCHL scoring.

-01 Willett once again finished just off the league scoring title pace in 2000-01, and his 98 points led the Condors. Jamie Cooke hit a career mark for goals, and a late-season acquisition of former Bakersfield Fog star Jeff Petruic gave Bakersfield a trio of 30-goal scorers – though most of his tallies came with San Diego that season.

-02 A newcomer made a great first impression in 2001-02, as Jeff Goldie arrived and promptly led the team in goals. Mainstays also were among the 20-goal scorers in this season, as Paul Rosebush notched the first of his four consecutive 20-goal campaigns.

-03 The 2002-03 season was the best Condorstown had yet to see. Each of the Condors top 7 scorers that season reached the 20-goal plateau as the Condors won 41 games and finished 2nd in the WCHL in goals scored. Five different Condors ranked in the Top 18 in league scoring, including Paul Willett, who claimed the first and still only league scoring title in team history.

-04 A new era in Condorstown began in 2003-04 – as the Condors entered the ECHL. The unaffiliated Condors struggled to keep pace in their new, younger, surroundings. But still, a trio of Condors tied for the team lead in goals, including Swedish-born Johan Astrom, and two returning players from the WCHL era.

-05 The Condors rebounded the next season with a 40-win, 90-point campaign. But a balanced attack that saw 12 players hit double digits in goals, only featured three 20-goal scorers. Rosebush put up his fourth straight 20-goal campaign, while Norwegian Lars-Peder Nagel and Kings prospect Connor James joined him at the top.

-06 Another 40-win season followed. Although the Condors roster featured just a pair of 20-goal scorers, they were players who would carry the offensive load for the next several seasons. Scoring was at a premium league-wide, as for the first time since 1988-89 the ECHL did not feature a 40-goal scorer.

-07 A 41-win, 94-point season in 2006-07 saw a Condor in the Top 20 in league scoring for the first time in ECHL history, though Sean Venedam did not lead the team in goals. Brett Lutes became the first Condor in four seasons to break the 30-goal barrier, and 11 skaters cracked double digits.

-08 The Condors 10th anniversary season introduced one of the best pure goal scorers Condorstown had ever seen, in rookie Mark Derlago, while Tim Konsorada finished 14th in league scoring as Bakersfield had two 30-goal scorers for the first time since the 2000-01 campaign.

-09 The offense came alive for the Condors the following season, as they finished the top scoring team in the National Conference. Dave Bonk and Mark Derlago finished 4th and 5th in ECHL scoring and Bakersfield had six players score 20 goals in a Condors sweater, with another – Bruce Graham – doing so between two different teams.

-10 This season was one full of turnover for the Condors. A number of players were on easy pace for 20-goal seasons, including players like Dan Sexton (13g/18gms) and Shawn Weller (18g/42gms) but saw constant movement up and down from the AHL. Stephane Goulet stood as the team’s lone 20-goal scorer on the roster.

-11 A new season brought a new affiliation, but once again it was Stephane Goulet leading the attack for the Condors. Eight players reached double digits in tallies during the season, but the second-year Condor was the only player to finish north of 20 goals yet again.

-12 For the third straight season, just a solitary 20-goal scorer manned the roster. When Robbie Dee was acquired in mid-season he had just five goals in 17 games. But 19 goals in a Condors sweater, including a hat trick, pushed him over the 20-goal barrier.

-13 Eight players reached double digits in goals in 2012-13, including a rookie defensemen, but 20 goals proved to be elusive. For the first and only season in Condors history, nobody could reach the mark.
-14 Fans in 2013-14 saw the Condors team that had the most depth and went the farthest in the playoffs. Both team captain Joel Broda and late season acquisition Greg Miller (who had 17 goals when he arrived) put their names on the Condors 20-goal list. Eight others reached double digits.

-15 The Condors final season in the ECHL saw an exciting rookie put up a 20-goal campaign. Jonathan Lessard came within one of putting his name on the list, and nine players had 10 or more.
Sebastien Sylvestre 23
-16 A new league brought a new level of competition. The AHL was ushered in by a pair of veterans who knew how to put the puck in the net, including team captain Ryan Hamilton. Eight players reached double digits, including several who split the season between the AHL and NHL.

-17 The Condors second AHL campaign feature a trio of 20-goal scorers, including Anton Lander, who was dominant while skating in just 42 games. Converted defenseman Joey LaLeggia made a name for himself on the wing, and Josh Currie had a breakout season in his first full AHL season.

-18 The Condors 20th anniversary season – who will break the 20-goal barrier this season? Ty Rattie was the first, notching his 20th on February 17. Josh Currie and Brad Malone are threatening. Stay tuned!
