GAME PREVIEW: PATRIOTIC NIGHT
TONIGHT
The Bakersfield Condors wrap a five-game homestand against the Manitoba Moose. Bakersfield has won two straight and is 2-2-0-0 on the homestand. The Condors won the teams’ only meeting of the season on Wednesday, 5-2. All time, the Condors are 5-4-0-0 against Manitoba.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Bakersfield staged their second two-goal rally with a five-goal third period on Thursday to topple Texas, 5-2. After falling behind 2-0 after 40 minutes, RW Ty Rattie had a four-point third period, including the team’s fifth hat trick in history. G Eddie Pasquale made 31 saves in the win.
Manitoba responded on Friday night with a 4-1 win over Stockton. G Eric Comrie stopped 40 of 41 shots as the Moose were outshot 41-29. C Nic Petan had two assists and C Jack Roslovic had a goal and a helper. Manitoba was 2-6 on the power play.
RATTIE POTS THREE
RW Ty Rattie earned the team’s fifth hat trick in history and the first of the season Thursday night. He had four points total in the third period as he assisted on the team’s opening goal from LW Joey LaLeggia. It was Rattie’s second career AHL hat trick, having accomplished the feat on Nov. 15, 2014 with the Chicago Wolves.
SAVING THE BEST FOR LAST
Bakersfield came into the week -6 in goal differential in the third period (8-2). However, with the team trailing entering the third period in each of the past two games, the Condors offense came to life with nine unanswered goals combined. Wednesday night, the team scored four third period goals to erase a 2-1 deficit in a 5-2 win over Manitoba. Thursday night, trailing 2-0, the team scored five to seal a 5-2 victory.
