Condors power past Thunder, 4-1
CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors (15-34-4-2, 36pts) scored four unanswered tallies to take down the Stockton Thunder (27-22-1-4, 59pts) 4-1 in front of 6,092 at Rabobank Arena Saturday night.
Stockton took the 1-0 lead with a power play marker at 11:41 of the first frame, but after that they could get nothing more past G Bryan Pitton. F Tyler Helfrich put Bakersfield on the board with
1:15 left to play in the period, using his skate to angle a centering feed from F Parker Stanfield past G Thomas Heemskerk to make it 1-1 after one.
Stanfield put the game out of reach early in the third with a singular effort in which he stripped the puck from D Nathan Deck and spun around to slip home his eighth of the season at 2:38. Pitton finished the night with 27 saves, including 10 in the final frame to hold the lead. The Condors improved to 5-2-1 in their last eight contests.
