Condors Sign Rookie Alex Hudson

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors have announced that the team has signed rookie C Alex Hudson to a Standard Player Contract (SPC). The native of Corona, Calif. becomes the third Condor to hail from the Golden State this season, joining forwards Hans Benson (Menlo Park) and Parker Stanfield (Anaheim Hills).

“He’s a highly sought after college player who we’re excited to have,” said Head Coach Matt O’Dette. “He’s a powerful, fast, and explosive forward.”

The 6’0″, 212 lbs. center spent the last four seasons with the University of Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks (NCAA) under Head Coach Dean Blais. In 130 games played, Hudson recorded 37 goals and 45 assists for 82 points.

His best season came in 2010-11, his junior season, when he tallied 13 goals and 18 assists for 31 points in 35 games played.

Prior to his collegiate career, the 24-year old played four seasons in the United States Hockey League (USHL) for the Tri-City Storm. While there, he amassed 123 points (54g-69a) in 200 games played over four seasons.

He is expected with the team this weekend when the Condors host the Stockton Thunder for two games.
