TONIGHT

The Bakersfield Condors face off against the Colorado Eagles. The two cities met from 2011-15 as members of the ECHL. It is the second of eight matchups on the season between the two sides. In fact, the teams will meet seven times over the Condors next 27 games, or 28.5% of the team’s schedule through January 23.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

Bakersfield earned their fifth win out of six games on Saturday, 5-2, over Colorado. Despite trailing 1-0 through two periods, Bakesfield’s offense exploded for five goals in the third en route to their third straight home win. LW Evan Polei tied the game early in the third before RW Jesse Puljujarvi and C Josh Currie added goals to extend the Condors lead to 3-1. RW Braden Christoffer and LW Kailer Yamamoto added empty-net goals in the win. G Shane Starrett earned his third consecutive win to start the season.

Following Saturday’s loss in Bakersfield, the Eagles were shutout in San Jose on Sunday, 5-0. Colorado is winless in six games (0-5-1).

Rookie LW Tyler Benson recorded his fifth multi-point game on Saturday, notching two third period assists. He leads the Condors in scoring with 14 points (3g-11a) and is the team leader in assists. Over his last four games, the Edmonton, Alberta native has six points (2g-4a). He is tied for third among AHL rookies in scoring and is third in assists.

JONES’N FOR MORE

D Caleb Jones had two assists on Saturday, his fourth multi-point game in the team’s opening 13 games of the season. He is now eighth among all AHL d-men in assists with nine. Last season, he led all Condors rookie d-men in scoring with 17 points (2g-15a) in 58 games.

CONDORS NOTES

RW Jesse Puljujarvi had a goal and assist in the third period Saturday. At the AHL level the Tornio, Finland native has 35 points (14g-21a) in 51 games, all with Bakersfield… LW Kailer Yamamoto’s empty-net goal was his first in the AHL and second professional goal… Bakersfield is 5-1-0 in November and 5-2-0 overall on home ice.

EAGLES NOTES

Andrew Agozzino is 15th in the AHL scoring race with 17 points (8g-9a) through the opening 16 games… G Pavel Francouz is tied for third among AHL goalies with six wins. His 321 saves is fourth… Rookie Logan O’Connor is t-13th in the AHL’s rookie scoring race with 12 points (6g-6a) in 16 games.
