TONIGHT
The Bakersfield Condors host the Manitoba Moose for the final time this season at Rabobank Arena. Bakersfield is 3-1-1-0 in its last five games against Manitoba and has points in three straight at home against the Moose (2-0-1). In April, Manitoba will host the Condors for a pair to complete the season series.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Bakersfield picked up its first shutout of the season, 4-0, on Saturday against Manitoba. Four different players lit the lamp for the Condors and G Shane Starrett stopped all 25 shots he faced. LW Joe Gambardella had a three point (1g-2a) night in the win.
G Mikhail Berdin stopped 37 of 40 shots in the losing effort on Saturday. It was his first loss of the season. Manitoba is on a five-game road trip and in the midst of a stretch where they play 10 of 12 on the road.
SHANE SHUTS THE DOOR
G Shane Starrett earned his first AHL shutout on Saturday against Manitoba. On the season, he is 4-0-0 with a 2.50 goals-against average and .921 save percentage. Only twice in the Condors AHL history has a goaltender won five straight decisions. G Laurent Brossoit went 5-0-0 from November 6 – 20, 2016 and G Nick Ellis went 6-0-0 from February 8 – March 5, 2017.
MARODY FINDS THE NET
C Cooper Marody scored his second game-winning goal of the season on Saturday. He now has 11 points (4g-7a) in 10 games on the season. He is one of just six rookies to play 10 games this season and average at least a point-per-game.
CENTRAL SUCCESS
Bakersfield is 5-0-0 against the Central Division this season. However, following tonight’s game, the Condors will play inside the Pacific Division for 13 straight.
CONDORS NOTES
The Condors are a perfect 6-0-0 when leading after two periods… Though he doesn’t qualify based off minutes played, G Shane Starrett would be 10th in the AHL in goals-against average… LW Tyler Benson is t-2nd among rookies with 13 assists. RW Cameron Hebig is t-2nd among rookies with nine goals.
MOOSE NOTES
G Eric Comrie is third among goalies with 414 saves this season… The Moose have been outscored 41-22 in 12 road games… F Logan Shaw had three power-play goals last Wednesday in San Diego which was an AHL high for one player this season.
