Lagace assigned from Buffalo; Condors announce Opening Night Roster

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors and Head Coach Matt O’Dette announced today the roster for the start of the 2012-13 season. The list includes 21 players with 11 forwards, eight defensemen, and two goaltenders.

Bakersfield was assigned F Jacob Lagace (LAY-gah-see) from the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL), G Scott Greenham (GREHN-um) returned from the American Hockey League’s Binghamton Senators, and G Dustin Carlson was released from his professional tryout agreement.

Lagace, 22, was a 5th round draft pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the Sabres and has spent the past two seasons playing for their top AHL affiliate in Portland and Rochester. In 116 AHL games, the St.-Hyacinthe, Quebec native has scored 20 goals and added 23 assists for 43 points. He has recorded 10 goals in each of his first two professional seasons. In 2010-11, he briefly spent time in the ECHL, playing 13 games with Greenville, registering six assists.
“Jacob is a highly-skilled winger who we’re looking forward to seeing play in Bakersfield,” O’Dette said. “He has experience at the next level and is looking to work his way back up there.”
Prior to turning pro, the 5’10”, 190 lbs. forward played 191 games in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) for Chicoutimi and Cape Breton where he potted 90 goals and 114 assists for 204 points.
Greenham returns to the Condors after being released from his tryout agreement with the Senators. He appeared in three games at the end of the 2011-12 season for Bakersfield, winning twice. In addition, the former University of Alaska-Fairbanks standout earned two call-ups to the AHL and appeared in four games between Houston and Hershey.
