CONDORS IN THE COMMUNITY: Third Thursday Events Start and Fight for Air Walk Saturday

THURS APRIL 19th:
The Condors will help the Downtown Business Association kickoff their monthly “Third Thursday” events during the off-season from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in Central Park along Mill Creek, located at the corner of 19th and R streets. Members of the front office and Colonel Claw’d will appear at the carnival style fair along with the always popular inflatable Slapshot booth.

SAT. APRIL 21ST:
Condors Account Manager Izzy Corrales will be participating in the 2nd Annual Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault 5K Fun Run from 8-10 a.m. at California State University-Bakersfield. All proceeds will benefit the Alliance Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault. Come out and cheer Izzy on as he runs to support the cause!

Baby Cal and Condors staff will put on their walking shoes at the American Lung Association’s “Fight for Air Walk 2012”at Yokuts Park, located off Empire Drive, north of the Truxtun Ave. extension from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. There will be a 5K walk and the Condors will bring the inflatable slapshot booth for the Kids Zone at the event. You may even be able to win a Condors prize pack in the opportunity drawing and live auction. Get your team together and walk to improve the air quality around Bakersfield and Kern County.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and theCondors will help raise awareness at the Kern County Network for Children’s Festival of Childhood Resource Fair from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Haven Counseling Center located at 730 Chester Ave. Colonel Claw’d will entertain guests and take pictures with the kids.

CONDORS TAKE PART IN GREAT AMERICAN CLEANUP
Members of the Condors front office staff, head coach Matt O’Dette (pictured), Colonel Claw’d and family members participated in the Great American Cleanup on Saturday. The crew donned orange tee shirts, and grabbed gloves and trash bags before heading to Ming Ave. near the Marketplace to clean up trash left on the sides of the road. Over 10 bags of trash were collected by the team and helped keep Bakersfield beautiful.

Ticket plans for the 2012-13 season are on sale now. Any new ticket package purchased in the month of April will receive free tickets to the Gaslight Melodrama hit show“Go!
