Summer Reading, Third Thursday, and Youth Center Community Visits

TUESDAY, JUNE 18th:

SHAFTER YOUTH CENTER SPORTS WEEK
Community Relations Assistant Kelly Carter and Condors legend Kevin Barrett will give kids the opportunity to get a hands-on feel for the game of hockey as part of sports week at the Shafter Youth Center. Kids will get the chance to try on hockey gear and learn more about the rules of the game. The youth center is located at 455 E. Euclid Ave. in Shafter.
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19th:
The Condors have teamed up with the Kern County Library to make reading fun for students over the summer. Students who achieve their summer reading goals will receive free tickets to attend Condors games in the Fall. For more information on the KCL Summer Reading Program, click here.

BEALE LIBRARY

The reading program continues this week at the main branch of Kern County Library with Slapshot and Kelly reading to and entertaining students from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. Beale Library is located steps away from Rabobank Arena at 701 Truxtun Avenue.

THURSDAY, JUNE 20th:

THIRD THURSDAY

Come visit our booth and take a turn in the slapshot booth at the Downtown Business Association’s Third Thursdayat Mill Creek Park from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Condors staff and Colonel Claw’d will make sure everyone is having a good time at the monthly event. Third Thursday features vendor booths, entertainment for the kids, food, live music, a beer garden, and more! Mill Creek Park is located between 19th and 21st Streets just east of R Street.

SUMMER READING- HOLLOWAY/GONZALES BRANCH

The reading program continues on Friday as Kelly and Baby Cal read to students at the Holloway/Gonzales Branchfrom 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The library is located at 506 East Brundage Lane.
