The Bakersfield Condors announced today that the team has added Duncan Dalmao (dall-MAY-oh) to the staff as an assistant coach.

Dalmao, 47, previously was the head coach with the Indy Fuel (ECHL) since taking over with 17 games left in the 2021-22 season. He compiled an overall record of 159-112-34 (.577) in 305 games behind the bench and guided the Fuel to the postseason in each of his four full seasons as head coach and general manager. Prior to Indy, he began his professional coaching career as an assistant coach for three seasons with the Brampton Beast, including the 2018-19 season under the Beast’s then head coach and current Condors bench boss Colin Chaulk.

As a player, Dalmao played 391 games in the ECHL and spent time in Europe. He was named the 2001-02 ECHL Defenseman of the Year when he scored 22 goals with the Roanoke Express.

He takes over for Adam Krug who took an associate coaching position at the University of Vermont earlier this month.
