Stockton took the 1-0 lead with a power play marker at 11:41 of the first frame, but after that they could get nothing more past G Bryan Pitton. F Tyler Helfrich put Bakersfield on the board with 1:15 left to play in the period, using his skate to angle a centering feed from F Parker Stanfield past G Thomas Heemskerk to make it 1-1 after one.

The Condors pulled in front at 7:34 of the second, with F Peter Boyd jamming in a rebound attempt for his 12th of the season. Then at 10:53 D Justin Pender’s slap shot from just inside the red line – about 95 feet away from the Thunder cage – beat Heemskerk to make it 3-1 after 40 minutes of play.

Stanfield put the game out of reach early in the third with a singular effort in which he stripped the puck from D Nathan Deck and spun around to slip home his eighth of the season at 2:38. Pitton finished the night with 27 saves, including 10 in the final frame to hold the lead. The Condors improved to 5-2-1 in their last eight contests.
