Palm Trees & Bugs Bunny!

Tonight, the Condors will host the Stockton Thunder at 7 p.m. at Rabobank Arena.  The first 2,000 fans 5 and older will receive a free Palm Tree seedling – just stick it in the ground, pour some water on it, give it some sunlight and watch it grow! Also, Bugs Bunny will be in the house to greet the fans and pose for pictures in the Condors Photo Booth, sponsored by Bright House Networks, KERN 1180 and Cal Water.

TONIGHT
The Bakersfield Condors play the middle game of a three games in three nights stretch against the Stockton Thunder. It is the only “three-in-three” between the two sides this season. Including tonight, the Condors will play five games over the next seven nights, with one of those off days being a travel day to Colorado on Wednesday.

PLAYOFF PICTURE
Bakersfield currently sits 19 points behind Idaho and Utah for the seventh and final playoff spot with 18 games remaining. The Steelheads and Grizzlies meet for the third time this week in Boise tonight. The Condors are even on games against Utah, but hold VsSTK - redtwo games in hand on Idaho. Bakersfield still has five meetings with Utah this season, all at home, while they will face off with the Steelheads for three games in Boise.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
The Condors scored the only goal of the first period with RW Tyler Helfrich tallying his 13th of the season, and forced overtime with LW Kyle Calder scoring a power-play goal in the third period, but it was not enough as the Thunder took last night’s game in a shootout, 4-3.

Thomas Heemskerk was impressive in goal for the Thunder, making 34 saves in regulation and stopping three of the four Condors shooters in the shootout. F Matt Foy, D Colten Hayes, and F Ian O’Connor each recorded goals in regulation.

CONDORS NOTES
F Parker Stanfield recorded his third fighting major of the season last night in the second period against D Colten Hayes..The Condors power-play unit, after a perfect two-for-two effort last night, has now connected on its last three opportunities…D Josh Van Dyk has a point in his last five games (0g-5a)…LW Evan Trupp left last night’s game in the first period injured and did not return…G Matt Keetley started his seventh consecutive game last night.

TRANSACTIONS
F Aaron Lewadniuk suspended by team on Thursday… F Scott Freeman (21-IR) and LW Jesse Gimblett (7-IR) remain on injured reserve but are eligible to be activated… D Keith Wynn remains on 21-IR.
