|CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Condors hit the Mercy and Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena for three games this week. The team hosts the rival Stockton Thunder on Wednesday and takes on the Colorado Eagles this Friday and Saturday. All three games begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. for Wednesday’s game and 5:30 p.m. for both contests on Friday and Saturday nights.
Wednesday night is High School/College I.D. Night as the Condors tangle with the Thunder. All high school and college students are invited to the game and can purchase lower level tickets for just $1 (subject to availability) by presenting their current school ID at the box office. Bring your friends and make it a fun night out at the Condors game for cheap.
The Condors open up a set of games with the Eagles on Friday andwill have a Valentines Giveaway presented by MY45, KERI 1410 AM, & Farmers Insurance. The first 2,000 kids, 12 and under, will receive a custom set of 30 Condors Valentines perfect for handing out to their classmates. The hockey themed cards feature sayings such as “PUCK-er up,” “Stick with me,” and “Don’t leave me shorthanded.”
Chicago White Sox 3B and Bakersfield native Brent Morel will drop the ceremonial first puck on Friday night. Morel graduated from Centennial High School.
Friday night is a Fellowship Night where church and fellowship groups are invited to take in a Condors game with discounted tickets. For more information, call 324-PUCK (7825).
On Saturday, the Condors will don special space jerseys as part ofJersey Off Our Backs Night sponsored by Bright House Networks, La Campesina 92.5 FM, and Bud Light. Five lucky Condors fans will take a jersey home with them as five will be given away during the game. The Condors will auction off their jerseys following the game with the proceeds benefiting the Asthma and COPD Education Center. The Condors have raised over $750,000 for various charities through special jersey auctions. The jersey itself features a space shuttle launch, the moon, a special Condors themed space logo, and the International Space Station. It is a tribute as well to the rich history of Kern County’s involvement in the space program.
Saturday is a Bright House Networks Family Night where subscribers can purchase $7 tickets by presenting their their cable bill at the box office.
The Condors will recognize students who achieved outstanding attendance levels with a complimentary ticket to the game as part of the ABC23, SC Architect, and Kern County Firefighters Condors Classroom Champions program.
Stop by The Bakersfield Marriott Autograph Booth at the north end of the concourse after the games to get autographs from your favorite players. On Wednesday, F Jesse Gimblett and F Aaron Lewadniuk will sign. On the weekend, Friday’s lineup includes D Tyson Gimblett with F Evan Trupp. There will be no autograph booth on Saturday with the jersey auction after the game.
Saturday’s game will be televised on Bright House Networks digital channel 10 and will be replayed on Bakersfield On Demand, channel 300.
Every game will be broadcast live in their entirety on Fox Sports 970 AM, and also available online at www.foxsports970am.com. In addition, anyone with a smartphone can download the iheartradio app and tune into the action from anywhere. Saturday’s action is the Condors Game of the Week on Fox Sports Radio 610 in Lancaster. The games will be streamed online through the exclusive pay-per-view video provider of the ECHL, www.americaone.com.
