Bakersfield surrendered a pair of goals by the Aces in the first 3:33 of the contest. LW Jesse Gimblett jump-started the Condors attack with his 10th goal of the season at 13:00 to cut into the Alaska lead. But the visitors regained the two-goal lead with a shorthanded tally by F Jordan Kremyr less than two minutes later to make it 3-1. Shots were 11-9 in favor of the Aces.

A wild second period saw five total goals scored on just 14 total shots. Helfrich scored at 2:25 to make it a one-goal game, but the Aces replied with a pair of tallies from RW Wes Goldie. Down 5-2, the Condors didn’t quit and pulled back within a tally. Helfrich scored his second of the period at 14:41, and F Parker Stanfield notched his second of the season at 18:47 to make it 5-4.
At 8:38 of the third, Gimblett scored his second of the night to erase the deficit. But it didn’t last long. RW Dan Kissel  scored his 22nd of the season at 12:25 to make it a 6-5 Aces lead. They added a shorthanded empty net goal to make it 7-5. It proved to be costly, because F Ian McKenzie scored just seconds later to once again make it a one-goal game, and bring about the final margin.
