CONDORS ADD BENSON AND SAMORUKOV FROM OILERS

The Bakersfield Condors received LW Tyler Benson and D Dmitri Samorukov on assignment from the Edmonton Oilers following the completion of their major junior seasons.

Benson, 20, was drafted in the second round (#32 overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft by Edmonton. He had 69 points (27g-42a) in 58 games with the Vanouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL) this season.

Samorukov, 18, was drafted in the third round (#84 overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft by Edmonton. The Russian-born d-man had 34 points (11g-23a) in 62 games this season with Guelph of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).

Also, Bakersfield signed D Samuel Thibault from the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL to a try-out deal. Thibault has nine points, all assists, in 43 games with the Thunder.

The Condors are in Winnipeg tonight at 5 p.m. PT looking for three straight wins.
