Condors hold on for 2-1 victory
Even record at 2-2-0-0 on the season

Las Vegas, NV – For the first time this season, the Bakersfield Condors (2-2-0-0, 4pts) gave up the first goal of the game, but they battled back with two goals in the second period to beat the Las Vegas Wranglers (2-2-0-0, 4pts) by a 2-1 score in front of 2,619 fans at Orleans Arena on Thursday night.

The score remained locked at 0-0 until the 18:40 mark of the first period. Wranglers C Ryan Huddy picked up his fourth goal of the season on a centering pass that deflected off a few Condors defensemen and behind G Josh Tordjman. All four of Huddy’s goals this season have been scored against the Condors.

The Condors battled back in the second period, with newcomer RW Pascal Morency knotting the score at one apiece. C Adam Naglich picked a loose puck in the right corner and found Morency all alone on the top of the right circle, and Morency fired a slap shot into the top corner of the net. Rylan Kaip later added a goal after picking off a D-to-D pass in his defensive zone and beating G Joe Fallon on the ensuing breakaway.

The Condors took the 2-1 lead into the third period, and held on with the help of solid work in the defensive zone and great goaltending by Tordjman. Tordjman turned aside all 16 shots he faced in the third on his way to a 37 save victory.
