Luke Greiner (GRY-ner), 23, Fairbault, Minnesota

  • Played four seasons at Harvard University, appearing in 123games with 21 goals and 22 assists for 43 points.
  • Best season came his senior year, finishing second on the team in scoring with 19 points (8g-11a) in 32 games.
  • Had a hat trick in last season’s Beanpot Tournament consolation game.
  • Named an ECAC Hockey All-Academic in 2011-12.
  • Spent one season in junior hockey in the United States Hockey League (USHL) with Sioux Falls. Was fourth on the team in scoring with 39 points (17g-22a) in 59 games.
  • Attended the prestigious Shattuck St. Mary’s Prep School in 2006-07, scoring 40 points (21g-19a) in 63 games.

“Talking with the coaches and staff, I think the team is headed in the right direction, and I want to be a part of that,” Greiner said. “I expect to be consistent in both zones, attack the net, use my speed, and shoot the puck. I just want to come in and help the team win any way I can.”

Murph’s Musings: “Luke came on our radar after talking with my brother, Kyle, who played with him at Shattuck. Luke is a high character guy, a great skater, and we were very impressed with how quick of a release he has on his shot. When we talked with his Head Coach, Ted Donato, he said there was no doubt that Luke would help our team in every way.”

Condors contracted players attending AHL Training Camps:

  1. C Joel Broda – Oklahoma City Barons
  2. F Preston Shupe – Oklahoma City Barons
  3. D Wes Cunningham – Oklahoma City Barons
  4. D Erik Burgdoerfer – Hershey Bears
  5. F Louke Oakley – Hershey Bears
  6. F Mike Hellyer – Iowa Wild
  7. F Gary Steffes – Iowa Wild
  8. F Blair Macaulay – St. John’s IceCaps
  9. F Brett Lyon – Abbotsford Heat

Troy’s Take: “We’re pretty happy with the number of players going to AHL camp, because it shows the quality of player that should be coming to Bakersfield,” said Condors head coach Troy Mann. “It’s very difficult to obtain AHL camp spots nowadays. It’s a feather in our cap and hopefully they all do well. This is in addition to up to six guys we expect to be assigned to us from Edmonton. Having two-thirds of the roster attending camps at the next level should say something about the quality of team we expect to have here in Condorstown.”
