Condors take down Steelheads 3-1 to complete sweep
Head to Ontario before returning to Rabobank Arena on Friday


BOISE, Idaho The Bakersfield Condors (16-14-1-0, 33pts) kicked off the new year by downing the Idaho Steelheads (13-13-2-5, 33pts) in front of 3,501 fans at Qwest Arena on Saturday Night.

Condors F Bobby Robins started the scoring 2:07 into the contest. LW Brad Snetsinger recovered a puck in the left corner and put a pass on top of the goal crease, where Robins was waiting to knock in a one-timer. LW J.D. Corbin contributed his second goal of the year when he completed a 3-2 rush with a wrist shot past G Mike Zacharias. Zacharias was pulled in favor of G Jase Weslosky following the goal, and the period ended with the Condors leading 2-0.

Idaho was able to cut the Condors lead in half with a goal 4:29 into the middle frame. LW John Swanson forced a turnover in the offensive end and moved the puck to C Matt Tassone. Tassone turned a fired a wrister past the blocker of G Josh Tordjman. The score remained 2-1 heading into the third period.

The Condors were able to reestablish the two goal lead just 52 seconds into the third period. Snetsinger recorded his eleventh goal of the season after sneaking a wrist shot through the pads of Weslosky. Bakersfield clamped down defensively after that as the Condors took the 3-1 victory.
