CONDORS WIN BEAUTIFUL BAKERSFIELD AWARD

The Condors are excited to announce that the team has taken home a Beautiful Bakersfield Award for Large Business/Corporation of the Year for 2022. Through several initiatives, the Condors were able to raise money for the Condors Community Foundation (CCF), whose mission is to better the lives of every child and adult in Kern County. Through the following initiatives, we were able to raise over $125,800 for the CCF as well as numerous non-monetary donations with the help of our sponsors, donors, and fans.

TEDDY BEAR TOSS

At the annual Teddy Bear Toss game on November 26, 2022, Luke Esposito sent fans into a frenzy with the fastest goal in Condors Teddy Bear Toss history. Fans let the fur fly, releasing 8,529 stuffed animals onto the ice. All bears were donated to over 50 local nonprofits through our partnership with the United Way of Kern County. In the team’s 25-year history, we have donated over 138,000 stuffed animals.

JERSEYS OFF OUR BACKS

Through the course of 2022, the team wore specialty jerseys for Blackout Cancer, Star Wars, Military Appreciation, and Wizard Night, as well as a camo Warm-Up jersey. These jerseys get auctioned off post-game and online, with the funds benefitting the Condors Community Foundation. During those nights, we raised $92,929.55, which the Condors Community Foundation distributed to dozens of local organizations.

DONATION NIGHT

The Condors hosted a donation night during a home game on December 28th, where we invited fans to bring in canned food and clothes to donate. Everything that was brought was donated to the Salvation Army of Bakersfield.

BIG BUDDIES PROGRAM

For the biggest games every season, the Condors donate tickets to various nonprofits through the generosity of donors. These tickets allow underprivileged children and adults to attend games. Some of last year’s beneficiaries include: League of Dreams, Boys & Girls Club, Links to Change, and CASA of Kern County.

NON-PROFIT AWARENESS PROGRAM

At all weekend games in 2022, the Condors recognized local nonprofits for their work in the community. During the game, the non-profit receives exclusive recognition on the videoboard and broadcast and space on the concourse to showcase information on their program. Each nonprofit received a $3,400 donation from the Condors Community Foundation.

JERSEY RAFFLES AND AUCTIONS

Every home game, the Condors raffled off a game worn signed jersey and auctioned off a puck, stick, and jersey to raise money for various charities and schools. In 2022, $32,902.20 was raised through this initiative, benefitting the Condors Community Foundation.

The Beautiful Bakersfield Awards aka the “Oscars of Bakersfield,” honors the efforts of individuals, businesses and organizations that make our community a better place to live.
