Condors Weekly: Hoping for an end to November woes

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors struggles continued last week, with the team dropping all three games played, including a pair of one-goal losses. The Condors are 5-13-2-0, with 12 points, trailing Stockton and Ontario by seven points in the Pacific Division standings.

WEEK IN REVIEW (Home team in CAPS):
Tuesday, Nov. 22
Alaska 4 vs. CONDORS 3 (OT)
Attn: 3,480

The Condors took a 2-0 lead into the third period, on goals by C Mathew Sisca and LW Matt Marquardt. But the Aces came storming back to tie it early in the third. The Aces iced the game with a goal by F Gary Nunn in overtime.

Saturday, Nov. 26
Ontario 4 vs. CONDORS 2
Attn: 8,776

The Condors annual Teddy Bear Toss Night was full of scoring opportunities for Bakersfield, but it was Ontario jumping out to a 3-0 lead. RW Scott Freeman brought the big moment out for the home fans with a shorthanded tally in the third. D Justin Pender made it a one-goal game a couple minutes later, but the Reign added a late tally to put it out of reach.

Sunday, Nov. 27
ONTARIO 2 vs. Condors 1
A pair of power play goals for Ontario – one early in the first period and the other in the third – gave them a 2-0 lead over Bakersfield, and they held on for the narrow win. The Condors scored with just over a minute left after pulling the goaltender for an extra attacker while on a 5-on-3 power play. D Justin Pender had the goal, but they couldn’t tally the equalizer.
