Bakersfield played a physical opening frame, and ended up drawing first blood. F Casey Pierro-Zabotel redirected home a shot from the point from D Joe Loprieno for his second goal of the season at 8:47. Shots were 13-8 in favor of the Condors. G Matt Keetley got the start in net for the Condors, while the Thunder countered with G Thomas Heemskerk.

Both teams had their chances in the middle frame, and the Condors nearly held their 1-0 lead through the entire period. But Stockton scored in the final minute of the second, with D Nathan Deck blasting home a goal with just 52 seconds left on the clock. Shots were 15-10 in favor of the visiting team in the stanza.

Stockton took the lead just 1:58 into the third but the Condors shrugged it off with a pair of tallies in the latter half of the frame. LW Matt Marquart slipped in a rebound of a F Tyler Helfrich shot to tie the game up at 11:21. And at 17:11, F Peter Boyd, left all alone in the low slot, fired home the game winner past Heemskerk for his eighth of the season.
