The Bakersfield Condors and Alaska Aces meet up in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals tonight, in the middle game of a three-in-three weekend that will conclude the home portion of the series for Bakersfield. After splitting the first two games of the series in Anchorage last weekend, the Condors took a 2-games-to-1 lead with a 5-4 victory last night. It is the third time the Condors and Aces have met in the postseason, but the first time in the Western Conference Finals.

Game 3 the Condors raced out to a 3-0 lead in the opening period and spent the rest of the night fighting back the Aces rally, finally holding on for a 5-4 victory. The line of F Chase Schaber, C Joel Broda and RW Jordan Knackstedt combined for 3g-4a on the night, while LW Chris Collins and LW Andrew Carroll added tallies.

Bakersfield defeated (3) Utah in the first round and (7) Stockton in the second round to advance to the Western Conference Finals. Both series were won, 4 games to 1.

Alaska swept (8) Las Vegas in the first round and took care of (4) Idaho in five games to get to the Western Conference Finals.

C Joel Broda tied the Condors single season playoff record with his 7th goal last night… Bakersfield has scored the first goal in ten of their 13 playoff games… Troy Mann is 18-8 as a head coach in the Kelly Cup Playoffs (.692 win pct) with two trips to the Conference Finals… LW Chris Collins has a goal in all three games of the series… D Joey Leach leads the ECHL with a +13… RW Jordan Knackstedt is tied for 6th in the league in playoff scoring and is two points shy of matching the Condors single season playoff record of 15 points… LW Chase Schaber had three points last night (1g-2a), the fourth three-point night for the Condors of the postseason, and is now t-3rd among rookies in playoff scoring.
