DESHARNAIS EARNS FIRST RECALL

The Edmonton Oilers announced on Monday that the team has recalled d-man Vincent Desharnais from the Condors. It is the first NHL recall for the 27-year old blueliner.

Desharnais has played 122 AHL games over four seasons and registered 39 points (5g-34a), 117 penalty minutes, and a +41. He led the AHL with a +36 in 66 games a season ago.

Originally drafted in the 7th round of the 2016 NHL Draft by Edmonton, Desharnais signed his first NHL contract in March 2022.

If he plays, Desharnais would become the 19th Condors player to make his NHL debut with the Oilers since 2015 and the 15th to do so in the last five seasons. Earlier this season, undrafted center James Hamblin became the 14th, playing 10 games with Edmonton.

The Oilers are in California this week, beginning tonight against the Los Angeles Kings.
