GAME DAY PREVIEW PRESENTED BY RODRIGUEZ & ASSOCIATES

The Bakersfield Condors become the 32nd and final AHL team to host their home opener tonight against the Calgary Wranglers. It is the third consecutive matchup between the two sides who split a weekend series in Calgary last weekend.

LOOKING BACK

In the highest scoring game of the season thus far, the Condors scored shorthanded in the third period and hung on for a 5-4 win over the Wranglers on Sunday. Quinn Hutson scored twice while Simon Tassy’s first professional goal was the game winner.

HUTTY HEATER

Hutson scored 30 goals last season and has not slowed down in his encore season thus far with five in four games. He leads the team with 16 shots.

ALWAYS REMEMBER YOUR FIRST

Tassy’s first professional goal was the team’s first shorthanded goal of the season. The Montreal native had 14 goals in 39 games with the University of Wisconsin last year.

BALANCED

Aku Raty has two goals and two assists in four games to begin the season. The Finnish-born winger is second on the club with 15 shots.

HOME COOKING

Bakersfield is 6-3-2 in AHL home openers all time, including a 2-1 win over San Jose last season. The friendly confines were record-setting a season ago as the team went 25-8-3 (.736) at home, good for third best in the league and set a new high for home wins in team history.

STRONG THIRDS

Early on in the season, the Condors have been good late, outscoring the opposition 7-3 in third periods this season.

PLUS PAIRING

The defensive pairing of Damien Carfagna and Tomas Cibulka combined to go +8 with three assists on Sunday.

WRANGLERS ROAD TRIP

The Wranglers played twice since Sunday, beating San Jose on Wednesday 6-4 before falling 5-4 last night. Ben Jones scored twice a night ago and now has six goals on the season.
