GAME PREVIEW presented by Rodriguez & Associates

The Condors hit the road for their sixth matchup of the season with Henderson.

LAST TIME OUT

Last night, it was a Tyler Benson power play goal in the second period which was all the Condors needed in a 1-0 win over Henderson. Calvin Pickard stopped 30 shots for his second shutout of the eason.

BIG PICTURE

The Condors are 17-8-3 (.661) in their last 28 games.

2023: THE YEAR OF LAVOIE

Raphael Lavoie has 31 points (18g-13a) in 30 games in 2023. His 18 goals are the most by any AHL skater since Jan. 1.

PICK’D ALL 30

Calvin Pickard earned his second shutout of the season and his 18th career in the AHL last night. He is one win away from his fifth 20-win season.

PLAYOFFS? PLAYOFFS?!

With 13 games left in the regular season, the Condors sit in sixth in the Pacific Division, three points back of fifth place Ontario and nine points back of fourth-place Colorado.  Last season, 63 points secured a playoff berth while 84 points secured home ice advantage. The Condors currently have a max possible points of 88. If the playoffs started tonight, the Condors would travel to Abbotsford for a best-of-3 first round matchup.

HOME COOKIN’

The Condors wrapped a seven-game homestand with a win last night and went 5-2-0. Bakersfield is 11-2-2 in its last 14 home games.

POWERED UP

Bakersfield’s power play has accounted for two of the three goals the team has scored in its last two games. The other was an empty-net goal. The Condors won both games.

ON THE OTHER SIDE

Henderson went 0-5 on a five-game road trip, but received a strong goaltending performance in the AHL debut of Jordan Papirny last night. The Silver Knights are 14-13-4 at the Dollar Loan Center this season.
