The Bakersfield Condors host the Stockton Heat for the second time this season. In the teams only other previous meeting, Stockton used an empty-netter late to secure a 4-2 win on October 23.

Bakersfield scored three times in the third period to surge into contention, but eventually was put away by division-leading Ontario, 6-3. Seth Griffith scored twice for the Condors.

Stockton continued its unbeaten in regulation run to start the season with a 2-1 win over Abbotsford on Saturday. Matthew Phillips scored his third of the season in the second period and it proved to be the game winner. Adam Werner stopped 25 of 26 in the win.

POWERED UP
Bakersfield’s power play kept a streak alive of at least one conversion every game through the opening nine games of the regular season. Overall, the unit sits 7th in the AHL at 24.4% (10/41). Seth Griffith is tied for the AHL lead with nine power-play points and Philip Broberg is second among d-men with four power-play assists.

Seth Griffith is t-6th among skaters in scoring with 12 points (5g-7a) on the season. He has a point in each of the opening nine games of the season. Linemate Adam Cracknell is t-10th with 11 points on the campaign.

Vincent Desharnais scored his first professional goal on Saturday. The 6’7” d-man had 10 assists in 37 games with Bakersfield last year and has played 52 AHL games overall.

CONDORS NOTES
Raphael Lavoie assisted on two third period goals over the weekend… Griffith’s multi-goal game was the third of the season for the Condors (Cracknell, Schaller)… Cooper Marody matched a season-high with seven shots on Saturday.

HEAT NOTES
The Heat have only allowed five goals in three road games this year… Stockton has outscored the opposition 10-5 in opening periods… Defensively, the Heat’s 1.75 goals-against a night is the best in the AHL… Offensively, Stockton is averaging 3.50 goals a contest, fifth best in the league… Adam Ruzicka leads the team in scoring with 11 points (7g-4a) and is t-10th in the AHL… Dustin Wolf is sixth in goals-gainst average at 1.59 through four appearances.
