HOLTY’S BLOG: OPEN THE DOORS

A special game day edition of the blog on the eve of fans returning to Condorstown. We traveled yesterday from Denver to LA and hey, I wasn’t passing up an afternoon beachside. Pics to come!

Preparations are in full swing to open the doors tomorrow night, so let’s get to the blog (powered by Grapevine MSPand as I’ll remind you, it’s my blog and I’ll do what I want…

Now for the blog..

Condors got a split on The Ranch this week to start the four games in five nights stretch. Cooper Marody (t-2nd), Tyler Benson (t-2nd), and Ryan McLeod (6th) all remain near the top of the AHL scoring race and all scored in the 6-2 win Tuesday night. Things did not go the Condors way the next night and I would expect a much different game tonight in El Segundo.

If we’ve learned anything over the last two weeks, it’s that second round pick Raphael Lavoie can shoot the puck. He has four points in his last four games and three goals over that stretch. Like many on this Condors team, he has a bright future ahead.

The Condors will be the only California AHL team to welcome back fans starting tomorrow night at 8 p.m. It’s exciting for many of us in the organization, the players, staff, and most of all, our season ticket members. It’s been a long 13 months. It will be great to have a limited number of you in the building the rest of the way. I’ve said that fans have been “robbed” of the chance to see this team in person, so it will be fun to have an atmosphere.

With fans returning, there are updated policies in order to keep everyone safe. Click here to read those so you don’t get turned away tomorrow night.

You can win Stuart Skinner’s game-worn jersey for just $10 tomorrow. Click here to buy your raffle tickets and we’ll announce the winner during the third period tomorrow night. The game will be televised Live on 23ABC as well thanks to Mercy and Memorial Hospitals and Three-Way Chevrolet.

I told you pics were coming. Figured if I walked three miles to downtown El Segundo yesterday, I deserved at least a couple slices at El Segundo Slice and Pint. Great pizza and much better weather than Loveland that’s for sure.

Until next time Condorstown…
