The Bakersfield Condors begin 2013 with their second straightvs idahocontest against the Idaho Steelheads. It’s a team the Condors will see often over the next two weeks, with four more consecutive meetings against the Steelheads on tap through Jan. 12th. After tonight’s game, the teams take to the air tomorrow and head to Boise for two games at CenturyLink Arena this weekend.

The Condors fell to Idaho by a 4-1 margin on Saturday night to close out 2012. D Francis Meilleur had the lone goal for Bakersfield in the loss.

The Steelheads went to Las Vegas on Sunday and earned a 3-2 win over the Wranglers. F David de Kastrozza had the game winner in the final two minutes of regulation.

Bakersfield reshuffled the roster on Monday with two separate trades. C Levi Nelson was shipped to Greenville for F Francis Verreault and D Kyle Haines. Also dealt was D Olivier Dame-Malka, who was traded to Toledo for F Max Campbell and D Dale Warkentin.

D Erik Burgdoerfer was named captain earlier today. C Peter Boyd and D Ryan Annesley were named alternates… F Max Campbell, acquired from Toledo on Monday, led the Stockton Thunder in playoff scoring last season… F Tyler Brenner is on a three-game point streak (0g-3a). He leads the Condors in scoring against the Steelheads with seven points (2g-5a)… D Tyson Gimblett is suspended for tonight’s game by the ECHL for his match penalty two games ago.

Of the new acquisitions, D Dale Warkentin is expected to make his Condors debut tonight
