CONDORS SIGN CURRIE AND O’BRIEN

CONDORSTOWN, Calif. – The Bakersfield Condors announced today that the team has signed C Josh Currie to a two-year American Hockey League (AHL) contract and RW Zach O’Brien to a one-year AHL contract.
CURRIE – stats; 24 years old, 5’11”, 190 lbs., Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island
  • Second on the 2016-17 Condors with 22 goals in 67 games and tied for the team lead with six game-winning goals
  • Had two hat tricks last season and led the team in shots with 156
  • Has 60 points (32g-28a) in 120 career AHL games, all with Bakersfield
  • Joined the ECHL Condors in 2014-15 and combined with his AHL tenure, he has played 191 career games in Bakersfield
O’BRIEN – stats; 25 years old; 5’11”, 192 lbs., St. John’s, Newfoundland
  • Amassed 81 points (33g-48a) in 175 career AHL games
  • Won a Calder Cup championship in 2014-15 with Manchester and had nine points (3g-6a) in 19 playoff games that season
  • Spent most of last season in the ECHL with the Wichita Thunder where he had 27 points (9g-18a) in 32 games and was second on the team in points-per-game at 0.84 a contest
  • Led the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) in goals with 50 and was second in the league scoring race with 101 points in 2011-12 with Acadie-Bathurst
