Veteran Francis Lemieux added to roster

CONDORSTOWN, Calif.– The Bakersfield Condors, owned by the Edmonton Oilers, announced today that the team has agreed to terms with veteran C Francis Lemieux for the upcoming 2014-15 season.

“He’s a fast skater who will be an offensive threat for us this season,” Condors Head Coach J.F. Houle said. “He brings lots of experience from the next level and can provide leadership for our team.”
 
LEMIEUX, stats, 30, 5’11”, 190 lbs., Sherbrooke, Quebec
  • Entering his 10th professional season with 115 points (45g-70a) in 271 games at theAmerican Hockey League (AHL) level
  • Spent the past three seasons in Europe, most recently in Austria where he led HC Innsbruck in scoring (40 points) and goals (16) in 2012-13
  • In 2010-11 he led the Florida Everblades (ECHL) in scoring with 73 points and assists with 45 in just 56 games as he was named to the All-ECHL Second Team
  • Has 85 points (37g-48a) in 69 career ECHL games with Florida and Las Vegas
  • Won an AHL Calder Cup Championship in 2006-07 with the Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens
  • Played two seasons in the Qubec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with Chicoutimi alongside Condors teammate RW Francis Verreault from 2003-05
The Condors full training camp roster will be announced on Friday. The team’s first on-ice session is open to the public, from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Bakersfield Ice Sports Center.

Get your first look at the 2014-15 Condors at the team’s annual Open House on Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 5-8 p.m. The team will scrimmage from 6-7 p.m. and immediately following, everyone in attendance is invited to meet the team, get autographs, and take pictures from 7-8 p.m. in the lower suites. Season ticket holders can pick up tickets and their gift at the event as well as Kids Club Members can pick up badges and gifts. Admission is free with the donation of two canned goods.
