GAME DAY PREVIEW PRESENTED BY RODRIGUEZ & ASSOCIATES

The Bakersfield Condors look for a weekend split as they take on the Colorado Eagles. It is the second of eight matchups in the season series and the Condors sixth road game in their first seven contests.

LOOKING BACK

Special teams were the difference as Colorado scored twice on the power play and once shorthanded in a 4-1 victory last night. Aku Raty had the lone goal for the Condors.

RATY RELISHING OPPORTUNITY

Raty’s goal last night came on a six-on-four power play in the third period and extended his point streak to five games (3g-3a).

GOALTENDING CAROUSEL

Matt Tomkins was recalled under emergency conditions yesterday by Edmonton. Nathan Day was recalled to Bakersfield by Edmonton and made his AHL debut in relief of Connor Ungar. Samuel Jonsson is expected to be recalled to Bakersfield from Fort Wayne today as well prior to game time.

NO SOPHOMORE SLUMP

Damian Carfagna has four points (1g-3a) over his last three games.

NEED BETTER STARTS

Slow starts have been a theme early this season for Bakersfield as the team has scored first just once in six games.

KEEP IT 5 ON 5

Defensively, the Condors have only allowed eight even strength goals against through six games. However, the team has surrendered 10 power play goals against and a shorthanded goal.

EAGLES SOARING

Colorado leads the Pacific Division with a 5-1-1 record and 11 points on the year. Captain Jayson Megna returned to the lineup from injury last night and scored twice for the Eagles. Ilya Nabokov stopped 34 of 35 for the win.

NEXT HOME GAME

Bakersfield’s next home game comes on Halloween Weekend as the team hosts Spooky Night on Friday at 7 p.m. against the Abbotsford Canucks (click here for tickets).
