CONDORS IN THE COMMUNITY: Players to Salute Veterans on Tuesday; Condors raise nearly $14,000 for charity

CONDORS RAISE $13,850 FOR CHARITY

For the third time this season, the Condors wore specialty thirdjerseys for a Jersey Off Our Backs Night. On Saturday, the Condors NASA/Space Themed Sweaters, featuring a space shuttle launch among other images, were auctioned off following the game and raised $13,850 for the Asthma and COPD Education Center. Kyle Calder’s jersey garnered the highest total of $950.00. The Condors have raised over $780,000 in jersey auction history including over $40,000 this season alone.

 

TIP A CONDOR COMING UP on FEB 21

The always anticipated “Tip A Condor” event will be held atHooters, located at 4208 Rosedale Highway Suite 100 on Tuesday, February 21st from 5-8 p.m. Don’t miss out on this great chance to interact with the players as they serve your food. There will also be plenty of items up for auction and fun had by all! The event benefits Shriners Hospital for Children. Tickets are on sale now for $25, include your choice of dinner options, and are extremely limited. They can be purchased at the Condors front office, Hooters, or the Kern County Shrine Club. Tyler Helfrich, who graduated from R.P.I. last Spring, headed back to school this afternoon. He recognized students as part of theClassroom Champions Program at Ramon Garza Elementary School, located at 2901 Center St.

Tues. February 7th:

Hans Benson will help salute veterans at the National Salute to Veteran Patients held at the VA Bakersfield CBOC from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The clinic is located at 1801 Westwind Dr. He will be on hand to greet veterans, sign autographs, take pictures, and thank them for their service to the country.


Wed. February 8th:

The Condors hit the road for a midweek contest against the Utah Grizzlies. Thurs. February 9th:
Scott Freeman and Condors staff will help man the phones at the KUZZ 107.9 FM Radiothon from 1-2 p.m. The station is located at 3223 Sillect Ave. Call in to make a donation and you may just get to talk to the Condors leading scorer!

Fri. February 10th:

Baby Cal will kick off another Classroom Champions event atPalla Elementary, located at 800 Fairview Rd., from 10-11 a.m. Cal will get the kids excited for the game on Feb. 25. 

Condors broadcaster Kevin Bartl will  be a guest on the Scott Cox Show at 4:00 p.m. on KERN Radio 1180 AM. He’ll have all the scoop on what’s going on in Condorstown and will probably chat about becoming a national figure over the weekend.

Sat. February 11th:

The Condors return home on Saturday for one of the most anticipated giveaways of the year in Condorstown. The first 2,000kids, 12 & under, will receive leading scorer and rookie sensation Scott Freeman’s Replica Youth Jerseysponsored by ABC23, La Preciosa 105.3 FM, and Rabobank. Season ticket holders will have an exclusive Meet the Team party following the game in the club room of Rabobank Arena.


LADIES NIGHT IN MARCH

Another highlight to the Condors calendar has been set as well with “Ladies Night” to be held on Monday, March 12. Time TBD. It’s a special event for the Condors women only as they get special tours of the rink, instruction from the players and coaches, and have an opportunity to ask the team plenty of questions! If you’re looking to learn more about the game and the team, this is definitely the event for you.
